| I haven't been playing long and I want to start playing holdem tournaments. What is the basic layout of a tournament? What is the difference between limit and pot limit? I live in Southern Cal., where is a good place to get in on a tournament? Thanks for any help. Soon to be poker pro..... | ||

| Limit tournaments run just like limit cash games, except that when you run out of money you're cooked and the limits increase over time. Pot limit tournaments allow you to bet up to the size of the pot on any bet or raise (and the pot includes your call). No limit allows you to bet anything up to the size of your stack at any time. Others here can tell you where to find good tournaments in Socal. I would suggest you pick up a copy of Sklansky's tournament poker book to get a primer on play. | ||

| If you go to Carplayer.com and click on tournaments Tournament Trail Weekly Tournaments - Southern California That will give you a list of all the weekly Tournaments in town, their buy-ins, and game type. Good luck Scrubbie "See you at the final table" | ||
