| I'm playing in a 30 dollar sit and go, and I get nothing but rags. Its level 3 already and I've seen one free flop at the BB, and thats it. I get cute with a marginal hand that I limped in from SB, all the while the BB had 3-4 with 2 3's on the flop, so I'm down to about 400 chips. But at this point, before I even play my first hand, It's already down to 5 people. I'm down to 310 chips with 4 people left (next spot starts the money), blinds 100/200. Everyone else had 2000-3000 chips. I'm in the SB with 66, go all in with my 310 and everyone calls for a 1200 pot. Flop comes, no 6, turn, no 6, river, no 6. So I'm up against 3 others, with 6's in the hole. The person to my left bets 200. The next guy raises it to 1700, forcing the others to fold, leaving me assuming I'm dead meat. He turns over J5 for a Jack high. He bet everyone out, for the faint hope I went all in with something under jack-high. I proceed to double up, and win the tournament for 150 bucks. Is it just me or was this the single dumbest thing anyone's ever done? Everyone checked all around just to get me out, so the fact that the others werent betting didnt mean they werent sitting on a monster, so a bluff with Jack high seems ridiculous for the FAINT hope he had me beat, especially since he bet someone out who had me beat, and he could have just checked around to get it down to 3. I will never play anywhere but party poker again. I just started my account yesterday, and have played nothing but $30 dollar sit n go's (my best game) In 12 sit n go's I've done the following 1st - three times 2nd- twice 3rd- four times 4th - once lower- twice. A $500 dollar profit at 30 dollars. Now this rate is phenominal and I by no means expect it to continue, but given the level of competition and just some of the AWFUL plays I've seen, combined with my perceived skill at these, I think its reasonable to assume I can beat the rake for at least some profit. Anyone else's thoughts on these? I would consider moving up eventually, but I would think that would actually cost me more money, since I am assuming the competition is better at the 50-100 dollar level. I admittingly am by no means a pro or anything resembling one, am a losing ring player, but I just get the NL sit n go's very well (I at least think) God bless the travel channel and party poker | ||

| Party's ring games are similarly fishy. And yes, thank god for the WPT and Mike Sexton's promotions for Party... | ||

| Those guys who bet are really really really stupid. What they had was a team effort to beat you and they were supposed to not bluff into the dry sidepot. Basically, if you are beat they all make the money and can sort things out between themselves and if one of them has a legitimate hand then he can try to fight for the pot, but by one of them bluffing everybody else off and then losing to you, all he's done is brought you back to life. Well I would be happy to have this happen to me, I'd be very tempted to tell the guy who did it what an f-ing idiot he was. | ||
