| Believe it or not, I'm actually beginning the work to make this happen. I have a list of ideas and a list of 30 posters from the last few weeks. Ground central will be " upf2004wsop@ev1.net " A mailbox for suggestions. Soon, this will become a web URL for everyone to check back to for plans, etc. Based on the positive tone from the initial rush, there will be no less than 6 UPF posters there. I expect 10, and my goal is 15. I have no reason to attempt to achieve this goal except that it demands that I stay close to this forum (which can only help my game), and a desire to meet everyone and have a distinct memory about my first WSOP participation. (think satellites!!) I won't get into the logistical nightmares yet, it's WAY too early for that. My initial thought is that we for a random meal. Somewhere outside a card room, or we'll all be itching to play. It's also way too early for some to know whether or not they'll attend, but I'd like ideas that will benefit the group, no matter who attends. And no, you aren't excluded if you don't plan on playing the big tourney, or even attending,...........I might not play either, but I'll be there!!!! | ||

| Count me in! I intend to play (again!) and it would be great to meet other UPF players there! As for a random meal, ... hehehe, ... I think the idea is for the successful ones to pay for a meal at Renoirs at the Mirage one night, and another regular meal at the Binions Steakhouse on the top floor. flintsword | ||

| I called Binions. They are settling on dates next week. I have the option of calling back or waiting for their website update and email newsletter, for which I've signed up for. on 24. | Hmmm...I wonder if Belagio or Mirage would give us deals on Hotel rooms if we booked as a group *and* put in enough time on their tables ... though that would be harder to do when also playing in satelites. | ||

| stdio and I (and some other friends here) have been tossing around the idea of heading to next year's WSOP. A UPF meeting would be even more incentive! Our chances of showing up are somewhere in the ballpark of 40-80% :O) | ||

| Stdioh had a good idea about trying for a group rate at the Bellagio. If we are going to try for that, we would want to do it sooner than later. I am guessing they get pretty full around that time. PLus, we are apt to get a better rate if we plan it sooner. The next questions would be ... How early should we set it up? Who should call them.? I wonder if Roy plays there enough that he has any pull? Karen and Penny are the two bosses to talk to about setting up rooms through the Bellagio. If no one wants to volunteer, I would be happy to talk to them, when the time comes. Just thinking out load. Scrubbie (I censored my other thoughts, cause I didn't want to get banned. Let's just say it included a bathtub and 200 Lbs of jello!!!) | ||

| Whatever info you get, send to ' upf2004wsop@ev1.net ' 1. I'm sure they'd be glad to book you a room, but the schedule isn't out yet for next years WSOP. (Some hotels don't book that far) 2. If you actually know them at the B, go ahead and call now to plant the seed. If you just know their names, I'll call and keep everything in my file I have started for this project. I'LL CALL THE MIRAGE. 3. My experience is no hotel is going to bend over backwards for your business during a major event like that. Yes, we'll try, but we're not going to sneak up on anyone....a request this far in advance should raise a flag. We'd simply reserve the minimum number of rooms for a group rate at this time, then come back for approval from everyone. I don't want to open this debate just yet, but let me speak for others (I'm sure)........I don't feel comfortable committing to a week's stay at the B........bankroll wise. By the way, our current roster is (10, 8 rooms): MozMan, 4-Poker, ChaseP, F'Word, Stdioh/Wren, Keyzer, Scrubs, ME/non-poster but reader that I know will go. | ||

| Thanks Risky, Reads like you have the ball running. I will sit side lines. also, you (or someone else) made a good point about how the Bellagio rooms may not fit everyone's budget. Scrubbie "See you at the final table" | ||
