Starting Hands, balik, 22. Jun 2003 18:04

A few days ago I decided to keep track of every starting hand that I bet. (Including SB and BB).

Here are some interesting numbers.

win % if flop seen: 29.59%

win % if hand is other than SB/BB: 39.78%

win % if hand is ranked in the top 35: 48.48%

Playing questionable hands(i.e. low PP, Ace unsuited): 18.52%

Granted this is only a few days worth, as I track this for a while longer I'll keep you informed.

I'm looking to see how strong I play the top hands, and how often I play garbage and win.

I am currently up 4 BB an hour on the $2 - $4

hello,
Umm........not too sure what some of your numbers are indicative of. Also, what do you mean by: "win % if hand is ranked in the top 35". What do you mean ranked in the top 35? ......If you have a list of hands ranked in a specific order could you plz post this.....of if you are quoting a book could you post the title and author? .........My last coment: please don't take this the wrong way (I am interested in these results)but I fail to see how other poker players and/or viewers of this messsage board can take advantage of this information as it is based soley on your play. Again, please dont take this the wrong way, personally I find it interesing. Just want ot see if I am missing something, maybe I am wrong. Are these percentages just results of your own play? And if so, how can other players take advantage of these results?
Thanks

sorry for not making myself more clear:

The hand ranking is from "How to win Low Limit Hold 'Em" by Lee Jones.

It is based on winning % in a no fold em hold em simulation.

It is based soley on my play: "Tight aggressive" on a "Loose passive table"

SB, BB,UTG all others 2nd or last

It is true there will be some margin of difference based on your or anyone else's style of play after the flop. What I am looking for here is to determine how much different my game is when I stray from this set structure.

So far when I play just these hands I have a win % of 48.48 %

This is based on just a few days of playing: I will monitor this over the next coming weeks and update here:

One final note:

That hand ranking didn't post very clear: If anyone would like a copy of this ranking and how I play them in early, middle, late position, please feel free to email me: mbroyles2@aol.com

I will be more than happy to send you a copy.

I will also more than happy to send you a copy of these stats broken down by hand:

I know you are only keeping track of the hands that you play. But I'd be curious as to what percentage of the hands you are dealt do you actually see the flop on?
