| "YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!", I belted out in a shrill whine as the bullet hit The River, at once tripping up my pocket rockets and spoon-feeding a straight to the lucky bastard next to me. (Who, by the way, had an eerie resemblance to Bjorn Borg sans the multi-colored headband). My tantrum was only compounded by the bizarre and blood-boiling messy muck made by the moron in Seat 2 on Fourth Street, which of course revealed an Ace to the table, leaving one lousy and unlikely out for The Swedish Tennis Player to bust up my nuts with his meatball KT. Vestiges of The Wimblelton Finals, Fifth Set, circa 1982. My incredulity was further amplified when--mere moments after Borg pulled in his pot and the horseshoe fell out of his a** and clanked off of the floor--I happened to glance up at the television to check the score in The Giants-A's game and I caught the closing seconds of what else but an American Airlines commercial, thereby confirming that the Poker Gods have a nefarious sense of humor and punish those who overplay masturbatory hands like AA. If there would have been a tennis racket in my vicinity it would promptly found itself flying through the air en route to a crash landing square in the center of the TV screen. Irony isn't amusing when there's money involved. | ||
