A Good Bad Beat?, PairTheBoard, 22. Jun 2003 02:35

| I'm not sure if this was a good bad beat or a bad good beat. I was in a $50 buy in NL game at Party Poker. I was dealt AK and called an early position raise. The flop came K rag rag and the raiser bet out $7. I had about $45 which was just enough to put him all in if he called. I raised all in and he thought about it. Then he thought about it some more. Then he thought about it some more. Well, evidently Party Poker Hung at that point, because when it freed up, the turn and river streamed out with a Queen on the river to make his pocket Queens into a set and the winning hand. Now here's the Good part of this bad beat. Evidently, when PP Hung it stopped the betting at his $7 and just dealt out the hand, because when I looked at my chip total I still had $33, even though I had lost the hand after making an all in bet against an opponent with just as many chips as me. Now that's something you'll never see at a Casino. LOL The thing is, I'll never know if he would have called my bet or not. At least I played it right - although I didn't figure on the extra Hang-Out. | ||

Well assuming that he was going to call your all-in raise here had there not been a technical problem....than yes, consider yourself lucky- even though you were the favorite at that point.....indeed!
