finding the right limit online, balik, 20. Jun 2003 18:46

I've been playing online now for over six weeks.

I have bounced around from $1- $2 to $5 - $10.

As much as I want to play the $5 - $10 I seem to do better at the $2 - $4.

In fact, it is the only table I show a consistent profit on.

When I made the comment to my friends about moving up levels, they said "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

So I decided to play strictly $2-4 for a solid month. Track my results, and then if I am consistently winning move to $3-$6 so forth and so on.

Does this sound like a solid plan? Is a month too long, too short?

Thanks

Balik

I think your plan sounds about right to me. If you show a good enough profit if only after a month or so than you could jump up to the next limit. And if you notice that you are succeeding in that limit, you can try out the $5-10 or whatever. But just make sure your bankroll is strong enough and if you lose too much of it back (say 1/2), than make sure you drop down a limit.

The key is to protect your bankroll regardless of the limit and if you're crushing one limit, that may not mean that you'll be able to achieve the same results somewhere else. I think that's what your friends were talking about..."If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Build your bankroll up reeeeal good, and then proceed to the next limit. You'll feel more comfortable when you do move up and your confidence level won't be shaken either.

Another thing to always remember.....Make sure you are always playing against inferior opponents. When you can rank yourself as one of the better (if not THE best player in the game), is when you will be able to show good $$ results.

Good luck to you.

keep up the good wins at the $2-4, it'll pay off in bunches!
