Hey all,
Sounds like a high octane ride at the tourney last night. Has anyone played at pokerroom.com? If yes, is it good? Any thoughts on the site? Thanks.

Hey DJ,

I played at pokerroom several times but I found that they weren't spreading enough of the high-low games that I like to play in so I went back to party poker.

I do think that the hold-em games are real easy to beat, but I just find their graphics to be so cheesy.

Once in awhile I'll play some chinese poker if I feel like mixing it up a bit, but that's about it.

They do offer bonus dollars for the player who puts in the most hours of play. ( I think it's based by the weekly hours you put in but I'm not 100% sure). A friend of mine plays on that site and she has won some extra money for putting in the most hours. I think she won about $250.

To be honest with you, though, I really don't care for that site. You can always download it to see what you think....maybe you'll like it there..who knows.

Good luck.

I play there a lot, I have a MAC so I have very little choice in the matter since most sites aren't compatible. The $50 buy-in, NL hold'em tables are pretty loose. The 1-2 and 2-4 hold'em games are pretty loose as well. For some reason, it gets tighter quickly when you go up from 3-6. The games are probably beatable, but I get bored quickly in tighter games, I like lots of multi-way action. The 1-2 O8 is pretty easy to beat, unfortunately the O8 was just added and hasn't really caught on there yet, so they usually only have the 1-2 and nothing higher. I imagine this could eventually change.

I have been playing at Poker Room for about a year and its been very profitable. The $1-2 and $2-4 games are typically soft and there is lots of money to be made there (although I have noticed that some of the games have been toughening up as some weaker players have disappeared).

The graphics are cheesy, but easy to use. Software is pretty good, although the advance software is only for the hold em ring games, not the Omaha, or NL games (or tournaments).

I find the tournaments to be okay - but mostly Limit Sit and Go tournaments (which are pretty easy to beat for the most part). There are a few multi table tournaments but the tournaments are much better at UB, Party Poker and Poker Stars.

The one thing I like is that they take PrePaid ATM, which allows you to get cash immediately from an ATM when you cash out. Nice option.

Anyway, despite beating the games there regularly, I have opened accounts at UB and Party Poker which I have found to offer more diversity and more fun. Poker Room is fine, just not as much fun as the other sites.

I would rank Poker Room behind Party Poker and Ultimate Bet in most areas (although I like the software better than UB a little bit).

Poker Room is best for the player that wants to play beatable $1-2 and $2-4 hold em ring games with occasional sit and gos. If you are looking for serious tournament play or for more diverse games like Omaha8b there are much better sites.

I will keep it in my mix though, as there seem to be more games available than at UB and I know the weak players at Poker Room.

Thanks for the info. Who isn't looking for beatable games? LOL. You can give me that list of weak players whenever you want. I appreciate the info. Just wanted to be sure it was legit about paying out. To be honest I like the calmer graphics there than some of the others.
Good luck Finding Nemo.
