I was in a funny tournament ( for 6 minutes) 2 days ago and it still keeps bugging me.

$10 one table no limit on pp.
Before table is full one guy is saying he will go all-in on first hand. Another guy says he will go all-in also.
Heard it before but they mostly wont.

I got dealt KJs UTG and call the blind. Player in seat 5 goes all-in and player seat 7 calls (original bluffer)...i fold.
Showdown ..79 vs a9...a9 wins .I would have had a full house..oh well happens.
2nd hand cards are dealt i get AQo player seat 7 says he will go all-in again i am on BB and got my hand on call button when he goes all-in. Now last player before blinds calls...i fold.
Bluffer has Q40 other has A9s ...Q on flop Q on turn A on river. I would have had a full house ..bluffer wins and is on 3K.
Player says he likes it this way and will go all-in next hand again.
I get 66 on small blind ..all fold player goes all-in. i call.
He shows AJ0 and...flops a full house.
i am out.

Stupid tupid tupid i tell myself why did ya call.

Two days later i am still thinking on how bad my call was.
He was a 7.5 dog to flop A or J ( am i right?).
He could have AA or 93 for that matter.

I really like some feedback on what you guys would have done and what i should do in future.

Don't let the comments of others affect your game and your abilities to make accurate decisions.

If you are being swayed by these types of comments, than turn your player chat off.

Getting information (table chatter) from what others are saying can be very valuable as long as you don't let it cloud your judgement and your strategies are still based on a solid game of poker.

Better luck.

You could play nothing but AA or KK preflop until they are through messing around. See what shakes out. Chances are someone is going to have a large stack, two or three players will be out, and one of the players messing around is going to be left short at some point. Wait until one or both of the goofballs is short before switching to your normal game. You will pay a few blinds, but still be in position to recover nicely. The alternative is just to gamble with them. High risk, but you may double or tripple early and eliminate the pests as well. I wouldn't have limped with the KJs with the pre hand all-in posturing. Once they show that is what is going to occur, I'd either decide to wait or make a stand. If I chose to make a stand, then AQ from the big blind is just fine to overcall this predetermined action with. If you get busted, you can get right back into another one table event immediately. Otherwise you are probably the favorite to have a huge lead early, which you can now use aggressively. Having passed on the AQ, I wouldn't want to get involved with the small pocket pair. Take two big cards (preferably with an ace) to try and counter this sort of play, or wait and see.

You can't call there. Chances are extremely good that he's at least got 2 overcards to you. He has almost a 50% chance of winning if he does. Since it is all-in flopping an ace or jack is irrelevant. He gets 5 cards.

Long story short, make that move if you are a desperate short stack, but doing it here was silly. 66 doesn't play *that* well against a random hand.

I have learned a lesson or two here thx.

I normally do what you say there but i got carried away and was kinda disgusted with missing the 2 full houses in the previous hands and got overbluffed.
Great when i reread my post i can see me making 3 mistakes and wonder why.

Someone should pay you guys for all this help.
Maybe you should play a few hours of poker with me then you will be payed for your advice.
lol.

Keeping on learning,
tommyhawk.

No problems and thanks for the kind words of support.

And I probably learn as much from UPF as the newbies here. Other opinions are always helpful and so is explaining a concept useful in relearning and engraining that concept.
