Poker Friends,
I am working on a new project and would appreciate any help I can get. I need some good, true bad beat stories. I would like to compile them and generate some statistics for possible publication. whether you were on the losing end or receiving end... I'd love to hear them. Please include as much info as possible. (card room, date and time, position and action etc.)
Thank you all in advance,
Taryn@badbeatbulletinboard.com

Hey,

I'll give you a bad beat story. I however was on the winning end of it. Just check out my response to the post entitled, "Biggest Pot You Ever Won". Mine is listed right there under 4 POKER.
(just note: this was not about a bad beat story at all..it was simply just a story about the biggest pot I ever won)

Not for nothin'....I really hate bad beat stories; it's all just part of the game and when we talk about 'em too much, it only causes alot of negativity. Instead, I'd rather focus on MY play during the hand and if and how I could have changed anything. I'd much rather analyze the situation objectively than to just run around and tell all my bad beat stories to everyone. There's no positive and redeeming value to doing that whatsoever........But that's just me and everbody thinks differently.

You also mentioned statistics?? What statistics can you derive from bad beats? Now I know I am no math guru by any means but......if you can come up with some accurate statistics just from listening to a whole bunch of bad beat stories, then "Hats off to you, my friend".

Sorry for being a downer on this one.....I'm just being honest as I truly believe that these stories couldn't possibly benefit your poker or your state of mind for that matter.

For me personally....I'd rather stick needles in my eyes then to sit here and type up an entire story of a bad beat from beginning to end.

But go ahead all......and shoot away. Get your frustrations out!!!!

No idea what table or whatever, but this was in a Party Poker no limit $25 room. I was on the button with 10/9 off, and six of the seven in front of me called the $.50 bet, so I called, as did both the blinds.

The flop came 10/7/3 rainbow, and it was checked around to me. All at the table were weak, so I figured if I got check-raised I wouldn't be best, but if anyone just called I'd be fine, so I bet $2.50 into the $4.50 pot. The small blind called, as did a player on my right.

The turn was a 6 with no flush possibility, and it was checked to me. This time I bet $5 into a pot a little over $11, and both players called.

The river was another 6, and the small blind led out with a $41 all in bet. I had $60, but no way I was going to call that bet to see him show me the suck-out set. I figured maybe he was hanging around with a 63 or something and caught the boat. The guy to my right had only $6 left, so he called. Small blind shows down 62 off.

A quick recap...
The guy's board after the flop was 10/7/6/3/2, with no possibility of a flush.
He CALLED a $2.50 bet into a $4.50 pot.

I only lost $8 on that hand, but it was the worst bad beat I've ever taken.

Just send Taryn an e-mail. Let's not start an avalanche of these as posts please.

Multi table tourney:

I am chip leader with only 45 players left in a 275 entrant limit tourney.

I get KK and raise preflop. 2 callers.

Flop comes K 9 9 . Oh yeah. The betting comes down to me and one other who caps the betting.

The turn: 7

The other player goes all in.

I'm wondering if I up agaisnt pocket 9's.

This pot will put me on the final table: I call

The river: 9

You guess it:

She had K9.

I never recovered and finished 26th.
