| I have decided that it is time for me to start playing online. If I were to go to one place and invest a paltry $50 where would you guys recomend me going? I'm planning on just playing at the very low limits and just practicing for the first while. Tell me if that sounds like a good idea thanks. | ||

| Nevermind the site, just go to any of them and play for 'play' money. Not because you're bad, or new to poker, but because you're a beginner on-line. There are things to get used to. It's much faster, and you will begin to get a good idea of how crapshooty ($$Wren) things can get at any particular time. Save the dough for when you feel prepared. on 19. | Stick with the bigger sites: Party Poker, Paradise Poker, or Pokerstars. I used to play Paradise and now only play Party as I find the games to be easier there. You also should check out each to see which one is running the best deposit bonus now. I think is is a great idea to play for an hour or two at the play money tables to get your feet wet and to get comfortable with the software interface. HOWEVER, these games should not be an indication of what you will see in the real money games, even at the micro limits. So, don't be trapped into playing for 4 bets pre-flop with crap cards (which you will see often on play money). Once you are comfortable, start at the low limits and play your normal solid game. Good luck, Steve | ||

| About the various online sites... I hear about Pokerstars, Party Poker, and Paradise Poker. What is the general opinion of True Poker? I never hear people talk about that site. thanks, SKinner | ||

| I haven't played on True Poker myself. Just that I play in Brantford with one of the "hosts" on True Poker and naturally she has good things to say about it - but as far as integrity goes, it seems that they make a lot of geniune efforts to prevent collusion and the likes. | ||

Tell me if that sounds like a good idea thanks. I agree with Risky Business. Play at the play money games first just to get used to the new on-line experience. The games move at a much faster pace and there's some things that you're going to need to get used to first. Also, I agree with Shorn. Chose a site that has been around for awhile and has a good reputation as well. My choices are the same as Shorns and I too play at Party now. Paradise is okay but I just found the games to be softer at Party. Good luck to you. 4 POKER

| Ultimate Bet is also a good place to try.I see between 800-1800 players on there all the time. There are some very low limit games to play in where you can make your $50.00 go a very long way. They have descent first time bonuses and a player points program. They even give points for playing in the "play money" games. I hope this helps. | ||

| What about golden tiger poker...they are offering a pretty sweet promotion right now of matching your first 30 bucks. Seeing as I was only planning on putting in a low amount that is the highest percentage i could find. Is it a good site? | ||

| Golden Tiger Poker??......never heard of it before. You have to find out how long they've been around and if you know of enough people who have even played on this site before that have positive things to say about it. .Their promos' may seem very appealing to you, but trust me, many of the more known and reputable sites have good bonus incentives as well. IMHO, you should stick to the sites that we are reccomending to you because these sites have a good reputation . The site your suggesting might not even be around next year, so be careful who you trust your money to. Try some of these sites. You can download them for free and check out their graphics and the games and limits they offer. www.partypoker.com www.pokerstars.com www.paradisepoker.com www.ultimatebet.com 4 POKER | ||

Just know that even though someone may have given you that link, doesn't mean that they actually play on that site for themselves. And you will get a lot of posters here (who are not the regular posters), and they simply may come to the UPF just to endorse a particular site for their own monitary benefits, so be careful. 4P-
