Just wondering where everyone is from and what kind of experience you have playing poker. Also, what limits do you usually play?

I'm male and live in Las Vegas and am 36 yo. Am a blackjack dealer in a major strip casino and have just started playing poker (3 mos) both online and B&M. Have read about 6 books and usually play $2-$4 HE and started NL online at poker stars. I'm really starting to like NL I think.

Is this Mojo from last night? You played very well. My head was spinning cause the action was so fast.

I've only played B&M four times starting last fall. Still down a net $100. Starting playing online in March or April cause I couldn't get away to a casino very easily. I've been able to play above average at Ultimate Bet taking my $50 to $400, 11000 UB points and a couple UB hats. Seems sad as many of these people play for pots greater than $400. I too have taken a liking to No Limit. And due to 4Poker's babble... Omaha 8b too. Nice to see you here.

Babble? Did I say babble? I meant words of wisdom. Astute observations. Clever insight. Sagacious comments. Experienced perspective. And all around grasp of the game of poker. Sorry if you misuderstood. One person's babble is another person's bauble. ;)

Dammit, what happened to this thread. I was hoping to hear a little about each player and get some insight into them. Oh well, I will do it myself:

4Poker: Not sure how old he is. I'm gonna put him at about 35-45. He is single. Lived the life of a hippie during the 70's. Was instrumental in landmark bra-burning session at Princeton University but was later thrown out after confessing that he never really got a 1400 on the SAT exam. Broke and penniless he moved back in with his mother. He sleeps until noon on his Empire Strikes Back sheets. Gets up and runs his paper route, logs on to UPF, and heads to the Trop until 2am to play in the $2/$4 game. Repeat. Has hallucinations of going out West playing in Vegas and Cali due to not taking his medication. Being from Jersey... he thinks the ocean is SUPPOSE to smell that way.

Stdioh: Was born on the floor of a pool hall in Ontario. Being so close to the high score, his mother couldn't walk away from the Space Invaders game. Since then he has grown up in dark rooms lit only by CRT screens filled with smoke and the buzz and beeps of the old modulator-demodulator. Finally coming out of his shell and into his own during college he began partying and drinking. After college he learned there isn't a damn thing to do in Canada and turned to poker. There he met a most wondrous lady who had a fondness for lost causes. He is also a huge Jack Layton supporter.

Mozman: He is a riddle wrapped in an enigma surrounded but some wicked chaos! Listens to music too loud. Huh?? Has hearing problems. What? Not much is known about this man except that he watches too much TV and remembers every line from every movie he ever saw. He can tell you who played third base for the '83 Cubs, likes the Yankees and thinks Derek Jeter is cute.

Paul Stine: What can I say. He is a Texan. So obviously he has an ego bigger than his home state. But this cowboy doesn't wear Wranglers or a cowboy hat. You'll find him in khakis going on and on about his latest purchase/sale he made with his E*Trade account while wiping Whataburger sauce off his silk tie. Very intellectual gentleman, who loves backgammon, busty blondes, and is always punctual. Oh, and he is never wrong. (But don't tell him that.) I think he drives a Buick Century.

I was gonna do some more but ran out of time (you can thank your lucky stars Wren, chase, and shorn.) Maybe when I get more time I'll tell you about everyone else. Anyone else want to take a crack?

Canadians and the British speak English. It is very similar to American except that you don't always pronounce everything the way that you spell it, and "you" is plural already without adding an 'S'.

You obviously don't know me very well.

> Stdioh: Was born on the floor of a pool hall in Ontario.

First of all, the pool hall was in British Columbia. I didn't move to Ontario until I turned 18 and decided to go it alone.

> Being so close to the high score, his mother couldn't walk away from the Space Invaders game.

My mother could never get close to a high score in Space Invaders. It was Ms. Pacman.

> Since then he has grown up in dark rooms lit only by CRT screens filled with smoke and the buzz and beeps of the old modulator-demodulator.

Actually most of the light was provided by lava lamps and the smoke came out of devices that I had "let the smoke out of" ... for as you know, all electronic things run on smoke and if you let the smoke out, they stop working.

> Finally coming out of his shell and into his own during college he began partying and drinking. After college he learned there isn't a damn thing to do in Canada and turned to poker. There he met a most wondrous lady who had a fondness for lost causes.

Actually, my clowning education was self taught whilst growing up in the circus. I may look like a polished graduate of the finest clown college, but it is all self taught, baby. You're right about the wondrous lady with a fondness for lost causes ... I learned a lot from the bearded lady ... but then Wren came along, killed her, and stole me away. I've been a prisoner in the S&M dungeon ever since.

> He is also a huge Jack Layton supporter.

In all candor, who is Jack Layton? Let me google it ... EWWW! NDP?!?!? That's going too far.

BTW, I am a TREMENDOUS Yankee fan, and also a partial-season ticket holder for the Diamondbacks (our own pathetic excuse for a baseball team). I grew up a hop-skip-jump from Yankee Stadium, and ALWAYS visit the shrine when I am back east. And Derek is DA BOMB... I'm not sure about cute, I will have to ask my best friend (who is a drag-queen), as his (her?) taste in men is better than mine.
