Who'd have thunk it. I'm still going. But not for long. The blinds will wipe me out soon. And I don't think I made a friend early on. But that's another story.

Thanks for all the help, yall. It's paying off in entertainment value alone!

Congratulations on finishing 2nd. overall! You got some nice hands while I was still at your table. I thought you handled the shorthanded well. One question. What could you possibly have folded in a 5000 pot for that third player's all-in 980 on the turn?

If I remember correctly, I was drawing and had junk. I was pretty confident I was going to lose that hand anyway. And, I was flustered and didn't see how big the pot was in relation to the bet. The farther I got, the harder it was for me to think!

Note to self: must work on poise...

Kinda funny Beigs got second after practically admitting defeat. Good question Andrew. One I posted right when it happened (although I thought it was more like T790). But for those odds I'd have almost hoped that he was trying to draw something too and didn't make it.

But then again, that T790 might have helped him take 2nd!!

I think you're right, it was a 790 all-in. I didn't think beigs would have gone that far with a draw heads-up just to let an all-in get back to about even with him. I thought beigs had ace something, and would call to try and knock the player out. That would have given him a 3000 or 4000 chip lead heads-up if good. The other player got all-in again soon, so the 790 didn't come into play this time. Beigs got a couple of nice hands AQs that turned the flush with action, and JJ with action at the 100-200 level when we were playing five or six handed with 12 players left. Before those two hands, we were both the tournaments low stacks, and Mike had third overall on the other table with about 1700. I got about 15 consecutive trash hands (except for one big blind where everyone folded) with no semi-steal situations. So it could go either way at this stage. Before that, my other pot was a semibluff on the turn from the big blind (Q7) with a board of like 6438 rainbow where none of the three limpers bet the flop. I just couldn't play anything when I needed to, and wound up going out with a raise from my big blind against a single early position player. My AT wasn't enough against 86. At least Mike got the bubble, not me.

I almost made the comment at one point when you and Beigs were the small stacks that you were going to get blinded to death. But then I thought it would be bad luck / bad form. As it happened you barely hung on for about 3 more orbits and beigs hit a couple good hands. Great entertainment though. Worth the hour of sleep that I missed out on.

But I'm REALLY looking forward to the NL-all-UPF tourney. And now we know who to gun for. You and Beigs!! I'd even skip volleyball for that.

I can't believe no one mentioned the beautiful blue dress beigs was playing in. Blue is definately his color.

I'm pretty sure my red dress and expensive rack took the beauty contest.

(No offense to anyone that owns a red dress, or a nice rack, in this forum)

LOL. Before the tournament Wren and I were commenting that the woman in the middle seat (where she was innitially seated) looked like her, complete with the red sweater.

I had a blue dress on????!!!! IThe first time I played on Planet I turned off the avatars. It's a good think too. My roommates would have let me have it if they saw that! They were really distracting me. I like just seeing your name and bankroll.

We both desparately needed to get involved at the 100-200 level with the short stacks. Beigs got a couple of nice hands with enough action, AQs and JJ. They both won good pots for him. I got a run of unplayable cards (except for an uncalled QQ in the big blind), and no situations with the table at six players for a semi-steal attempt. Beigs made the most of these two good breaks and carried a decent stack into the final table. I busted instead, and Mike busted the next hand from the other table. If I check and fold my AT in the big blind instead of raising preflop (and don't play my small blind), then I have just 30 left for up to five more hands to let someone else bust on the other table after Mike did. I thought I was way too low to make the final table this way. Unless two premium hands got into a raising match on the other table I wasn't going to get there. I had what I needed in the big blind, AT against a single preflop limper with 86. It just wasn't enough this time.
