A while back i posted about how i was getting bored with online poker. So i took some advice, I cashed in what was left of my bank roll, took some time off and tryed some different games on different sites.

About 3 weeks ago (after a 10 rest, alot for me), i bought into 3 different sites for $50 each (which turned into $100 with the cash-in bonuses offered). I quickly lost on one site, but had a good run on two others. I wasn't playing alot, maybe 10 hours a week, and my sessions were down to anywhere between 20 to 50 minutes.

So, a week ago, i was up to about $800. I was just playing low limt 7 stud, 5 stud, and No limit tournaments. I really played well and won most sessions.

Then about 5 days ago, i just stopped caring. Bad beats didn't affect me (which is good), but neither did winning or losing. So i moved up in limits, 3-6, 2-4 no limit. That worked for about 2 sessions, then i stopped caring again.

I just lost $200 on $2-4 no limit, against good players who i have good reads on, and don't care. They didn't draw out on me they just kept flat calling my bets with better hands.

Its funny, but for the first time in my poker career, i've really passed the "threshold of caring".

So I've cashed out my last $300, and will buy some books and chips (hopefully i'll start my own home game).

I just can't keep interested in online play.

A vacation seems in order. Go to a chess club and give that game a whirl. That game will challenge your mind.

Poker a higher levels has greater texture and allows only strong players to participate successfully. Caring is not enough, but part of it.

There is also determination, courage, calculating ability, timing, and the list goes on and on.

A home game is a great idea. Buying some books is also a great idea. Tennis, running, the outdoors, other people, ... Give yourself a chance to relax. Think about the game, and the next level.

You sound like a good player. Take care of the person (you) and those around you, as a priority, ... And let poker return as an interest in time.

One way to properly value the online time when you are winning as you described is to cash out and use the money for something. Better still, take some of that cash, grab a few friends, and go to a brewpub and buy them a beer. Make sure your toast is" "To those aquatic players online, thank you for this beer." You can then explain to your friends the truth of the round, joke about being a "rounder" (as in "round of drinks" ... ha ha ha), and relax.

To finish, ... Congratulations on your recent results.
