As I went into my local book store after receiving graduation money to buy some more poker books, i Amarillo Slims new book and decided to check it out. After reading it for 15 minutes I thought it was hilarious and knew it'd pay for itself. It only partially has to do with poker (though gives a great history on the WSOP), but some of the schemes in there are worth knowing for poker players in case their bank rolls take a hit one night. Anyway wondering if anybody else has read this book yet and what they think.

I think my nieces are plotting to get me this book for my birthday, ... so I won't get to read it till November 7th ... grrrrr. I hear that it is absolutely extraordinary read.

Here is a great read for you: The first article and basis for Jim McManus's book "Positively Fifth Street" was the Harper's article called "Fortune's Smile" which if you haven't read, ... You are in for a real treat. I shamelessly promote this article for the reading pleasure it has given me and for the positive feedback I have gotten from people that "discover" it after I bring it to their attention. Here is the link, ... Enjoy!

Glad you enjoyed the article, and if you have any friends, send the link to them. I found that most poker players really enjoyed the article. My nieces had better come through with the book on my birthday, or it will be "coal at Christmas ... lol"
