| Today I qualified for Round 3, THE FINALS (August 30th), for the Pokerpages WPO Seat tournament and won $62.64 for my third place showing in Round 2. I want to thank everyone at UPF for the insightful comments, analysis, and hand analysis that have improved my game this year. Encouragement from Big_Slick in the tournaments was neat. The UPF posts from 4 POKER, Stdioh, Shorn, Wells, Mike, Ray, among others improved my game, no question. I hope to see more UPFers in Round 3 finals for the WPO Seat, since if I can do it, ... | Thank you Big_Slick, ... You should be able to qualify, you certainly are a steady enough player. Did you know that Round 2 is a money tournament? | The Round 2 tournaments are actually $6 + $1 multi-table tournaments, four held each weekend. The Round one tournaments are just a way to play in the Round 2 for free (actually, bugsys pays your entry fee ...), so you "could" avoid that step. In my (long) note to chasepoker I mentioned that one of the qualifiers is "RossBoatman". In view of the link between www.thehendonmob.com (Ross is "one" of the Hendon Mob ...) and www.bugsysclub.com, ... It is a fairly good bet that "RossBoatman" is Ross Boatman. | You should try to qualify for the WPO seat tournament MozMan. It is free to play round one tournaments (to qualify for round 2) and your poker comments show you are a steady player. Just in case you think they will need to scrape you off the floor with a spoon in round 2, ... "There is no spoon" ... lol. Just an idea. flintsword | ||

| Wow! A compliment! Thanks. I guess that means that the notation for flintsword: " <(((((><)" in your paradise player notes will change. (Just kidding. I appreciate the comment that I can play.) For the WPO Seat tournament, I got in via www.thehendonmob.com, the British poker site. They use www.bugsysclub.com which you can also get through www.pokerpages.com Once you register, play in the round one freerolls, which are run twice each weekday. It is a multi-table with up to 400 players in them, in the usual proportion: 50% players, ... 50% squirrels. The poker gets serious when you are down to ten tables. If you finish in the top ten, you get a free entry into the Round 2 tournament, which is played four times each weekend. The Round 2 tournament is also a $6 + $1 tournament, so you can play directly on the weekend. By the way, if you qualify for Round 2, you MUST use it that weekend. All Round 2 qualifications are reset to zero on Mondays. Play is pretty good IMO in Round 2, with about ten tables most times. Only the top five qualify for the Round 3 Final scheduled for August 30th. So you not only have to make the final table, you have to further decant the crowd to the last five. Round 2 do have payouts for the top ten players, so if you qualify, you also get $$. There are automatic League Points and "Bugsy's Second Shot" linked with playing there, but it takes a while to understand it. Robby_Robb = four times!). I haven't seen Robby play, but AshleysDream is a superbe player. I think that it is a fairly good bet that the "RossBoatman" that qualified in May is "the" Ross Boatman, so the final is going to be a blast. Good luck chasepoker! flintsword | ||
