| As my June Swoon inexplicably continues (I am breaking even more or less, but not making money) I have to whine about one thing in particular: I am (IMHO) playing the big drawing hands perfectly - only playing them late with lots of callers. I am picking up huge drawing hands like pocket Jh-10h and getting flops like 8h-9h-x. Straight flush draws with 18 outs!! I have now missed draws like these (I am actually counting) 16 times in a row. As the raising in these hands have been usually active, I have been taking quite a beating. The law of averages says that I am due to win some monster pots soon, but man, this is getting brutal. It is almost comical. | ||

| Sorry to hear about 16 in a row. To be honest? I wish I even had: A) Cards in late position. B) Two callers before me in the rare instance I have cards in late position. If I get a J-10 hearts in 7th, 8th, 9th or 10th position? No callers, no pot, must fold. C) The ability to make everyone fold when I make it blatantly obvious I have AA, KK, or AK. I mean, dust is collecting on my chips... What else could I have? I went 0-6 today with AA (twice) KK (twice) A-Q (queen-high on the flop twice). I lost $250 in 3 hours. Sure, I knew I was beat a few times, but should I start playing 10-5 off suit because you need a five or ten to make a straight? Please. I can't semi-bluff, slowplay, check-raise, any Theory of Poker play... And this is the 8-16 game at the Bellagio too... I'm making it $16 to $32 before the flop in some cases and getting beat. I hear your pain. But whoever said limit hold 'em was a big card game? Well, they should come play in the seat to my left and just call when I raise because they'll make a fortune cracking my big cards. I really wish I could get a damn straight or flush draw nowadays... That's where the damn money is... Not in this caveman AA, KK, QQ garbage... | ||

| Oh I love to whine also. 5 times KK in one session all lost vs. AA. (online offcourse) Got AA twice and lost .(costed large part of bankroll and confidence) Question for b&m players would be "have you experienced KK v.s AA so many times in a live game. Very many people talk about this online. We seem to forget the hands where we win KK and AA against crap. It is a selective memory and it sticks but isn't it a little much. Really curious what your experiences are. tommyhawk. | ||

| I often feel the same way, but wen I check my numbers, it doesn't really happen any more often online than B&M. It really only seems that way; and I think that is because I play twice as many hands per hour online. The other question is definitely true: we do easily forget when we beat crap with a big hadn, and the bad beats stick out in our minds. That's just human nature. -Moz "Leave the gun. You're either telling a tall tale or your mind is playing tricks on you. You got pocket KK 5 times in a single session, and each time someone else had AA? By my count, the odds of that happening are more than 3 million to 1. If you can beat those odds, I'd quit poker and just play the lotto! | ||

| Never whine about a month of breaking even. Whine when you lose 100+ big bets in a month. | ||

| Oh... come on!! That's only $50... right???? ;) But then again, that IS half my bankroll. TKarrde "You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! Keeping track of outcomes does nothing but negatively influence your play. You don't "deserve" a particular outcome anymore than you can control a particular outcome. | As long as we're all whining i got a story to. I was playing heads up with a friend of mine in a small home game i host, we origionally had 5 players and we'd knocked them all out. Let me make one thing clear, the guys i play poker with are terrible, they've read no books, have minimal starting hand conditions, never read a forum, no online experience, and play maybe twice a week. So im going heads up against him and he is a total calling station, and bluffing heavily as well. Ok so thats a easy game to beat, just be a bit more selective and bet at him every time i get a solid hand cause he'll call, and don't bother trying to get fancy with bluff calling cause i'll make my money anyway. One problem though, EVERY TIME he draws out on me (3 count em 3 inside straight draws of his) he nails his card on the river, all in an hour and a half. When i finally went heads up with 10 10 he called with Q 8o and of course got a Q. I told him he drown in his &$()#@$ river, and i was right, the next day he dropped 40 dollars to me. | ||

| I read once that you get paid for playing your cards correctly, not for winning pots. The theory being, of course, that if you play your cards right, the money will take care of itself. | ||
