| I read through the massive amount of posts on 'the drink' and an idea popped into my head. When going to a card room talk to waiter/waitress ahead of time and give them a nice tip to bring you a drink in an alcahol glass and have them announce "heres your (fill in alcaholic beverage that is clear)" and actually have it be water. Then have them do it about 5 more times after you chug down your "alcoholic beverage". Maybe talk a little slurred and make a couple of advertising plays, then use the action you'll get off that to clean up all night. Anybody ever tried that before? (kinda useless to me as im still only 18) | ||

| Ha! Actually, I did try that once. I pretended that I was doing shots of Vodka when in reality they were merely shot glasses that were filled with water! I was playing in a really low limit Omaha game and have never played with any of those players before and "Yes"... I got a lot of action! I was playing really good poker and I acted as if I had no idea as to what I was doing and players were calling way too many of my bets/raises. I'm not sure if they were just really bad players or what, but I definitely earned my share for that session! It's not a bad idea as long as you really are a good and disciplined player and the key would be to play in game where most of the players were not familiar with you. 4 POKER | ||

| BOND, YOU MUST GROW UP A LITTLE. NO ONE WILL BE FOOLED, AND BESIDE THAT THE WAITRESS WILL NOT GO ALONG WITH SUCH DOINGSOR SHE MIGHT LOSE HER JOB. LJH | ||

| Oh i don't know about that. If people are stupid enough to play 9 3o in early position their probably stupid enough to fall for that. | ||

| Haha, I love it. I've actually done something similar in a home game where everyone was having a good time. My gin and tonic was absent the gin part. Everyone else was a bit sloshed, and I could act well enough. I didn't want them to resent me for trying to keep an edge, and it worked out pretty good! | ||

| A lot of times when I'm craving beer, I'll drink a non-alcoholic beer at the table. Anyway, maybe I should start asking for a glass, because I'm pretty sure that it would look exactly like real beer, and as long as I ordered quietly, nobody would ever know the difference. Then just act a bit drunk and people might buy it. However, I'm not sure I could pull it off, I usually don't even act drunk when I AM DRUNK. I weigh a good 200 lbs or so, so the it takes quite a bit to get me there. LOL | ||

| You need to watch the episode of Black Adder entitled "Beer" "Baldrick, when I call for my extremely powerful and potent ale, you pass me the ale goblet full of water." "Right, so when you ask for ale, I pass water." | ||

| One of the coctail waitresses at Brantford makes me a drink out of ginger ale, grenadine, and juice. It looks like a coctail and she puts cherries on it. I usually ask her for a black coffee and one of those "foofy" drinks. To a casual observer it may look like an alcoholic beverage, but I'm not actively deceiving anybody so I don't have to feel dishonest. And when I pay her one white chip for it anybody who cares will realize that there is no alcohol in it (since it is illegal for Canadian casinos to give out free booze). | ||
