| Travelling to LA from NYC and have to choose a cardroom for Tuesday night. Commerce and Hollywood Park are my top choices. Which is closest to Beverly Hills? Any better suggestions? | ||

| Hey, I am in California right now and have visited and/or played in most of the card rooms in the LA area and in my opinion, The Commerce is the best. Hollywod Park is a nice poker room as well, but The Commerce has a bigger selection of limits to chose from and when I play poker, my limits vary depending on the game itself- whether it's a hold-em game,a stud game or an Omaha game, and the Commerce spreads all of those games which are available to play at the low limits and the much higher limits as well. The Commerce also has the biggest poker room in the world with over 165 tables...pretty impressive if you ask me! The Commerce, Hollywod Park, The Bicycle club and The Hustler are all within twenty minutes from each other. All the poker rooms in California(LA) treat their customers unbelievably fantastic and they're all worth checking out. IMO, California has the best poker in the country- the games are phenominal, the selection is always there, the customer service is the absolute best, and they offer you free food at the tables if you're playing ($20-40) & up(and even if you're playing in the lower limits, you can still order off the menu and the prices are very reasonable and the food is surprizingly good). I'm sure you will enjoy your visit no matter which poker room you chose to play at and I suggest that you do take the time to visit at least two or three of them. There's also a tournament going on right now at The Commerce and there will be another one at The Bicycle Club in August). Have a safe trip and good luck to you. 4 POKER | ||

| I just played at Hollywood Park last night (on my way in from the airport). Nice place, I liked it alot. Played $2-4 to get acclimated to a new environment and, I regret to say, my June Swoon is still in effect as I lost $70 in 3 hours. The games are very loose and range from loose aggressive (which my game started out) and loose passive (which it ended up). I was up for a while, then was playing some top hands aggressively after missing the flop (these guys were playing anything on the board and the pots were pretty big). If I had stayed, no doubt I would have made my money back (and then some) but after a 5 1/2 hour flight, I thought it best to just get some sleep. tonight I am going to check out Commerce. | I like to play the Bike ( the Bicycle Casino ). It's smaller than Hollywood Park or the Commerce, but I usually have a good time. However, I have been playing at the Hustler recently. It has a reputation of having some pretty beatable mid limit hold'em games (4-8 and 6-12). But, you be the judge. Aces_up | ||
