what to do when you loose your patience?, jdsalinger, 8. Jun 2003 21:48

so the last month I've been playing online NL live games and NL tourneys online. Since I graduated last month I've probably played about 10 hrs+ a day. Usually 2 to 4 games/tourney at the same time and been doing well the last month. Up about 6k but probably should be around 7.5 to 8k. About 3 days ago I took a real bad beat playing $100 tourney. AA against 22 both flopped sets but the one outer came on the river for quads to knock me out on the bubble. No big deal but it happens. again 45min later I get AA vs JJ and get beat on the river again to loose again one place from getting paid. Of course if I won those hands I feel I could have gotten either 1st or 2nd place. No less than 15min latter I've got QQ in a large NL game.
flop 22Q only to see two running dueces to get by AQ. Now I'm really on tilt and off course I get QQ again 3 hands latter and loose to JQ when the flop comes xxJ and a river J. For 3 days after I've been real impatient getting that uneasy feeling in my stomach where you can't sit still or concentrated for an extended amount of time. I've managed to only loose about $400 during my tilt spell and have taken the last couple of days playing golf. Came back today to promptly loose another $200. So I went to a regular casino and won $100 in 10min and quickly left just so I can book a win and break the streak. I've got a bunch or school loans, bills and relatives I send money back to so I can't take any long extended vacations. Any advice?I really should be looking for a regular job but I've been making a decent living the last couple of months play online and stupidly am considering being a pro poker player. Anyone online poker players been able to book 2 years+ at ~50k?

If you play 2000 hours a year $25/hr would be 50k a year. Playing well, you should be able to make $25/hr or more!
