| I've never played online. I played quite a lot years ago living in Las Vegas. I used to hear stories of guys who played as teams in live games. It seems to me this would be a big problem online. In fact, one guy with two computers could conceivably play as a team on his own. It wouldn't be out of the question to even play several seats at a table. You could avoid having your cards looked at by just folding on the last raise. It seems to me that there is too much potential profit in this kind of thing for it not to be happenning. Any thoughts? | ||

| As I do believe that anything is possible, I also believe or would like to think that most people do not cheat. 4 POKER | ||

| Only the people who can't beat poker legit cheat. That tells me that they are stupid people to begin with. The way I see it, the best cards win. So if they want to juice the pot with their crap hands, trying to chase me out, more power to them. It would be fairly obvious if this was happening. All you would have to do is email support. They can observe a table (and they can see everyone's cards) and they will know if it's going on. Bottom line... I'm not worried about it. | ||

| It happens, but the advantage isn't that huge. Sites like Truepoker have a lot of computational stuff going on to detect collusion and they won't let you sit at a table with anybody who has been flagged as a potential colluder. Some sites are more lax. The main problem is that cheating online isn't illegal. In Nevada you can get up to 10 years for cheating at cards, but since the servers for these sites are all in countries with few laws, the worst thing that can happen to an online cheater is that he gets banned from the site. | ||

| Thanks for that input. My view of human nature is that if a way is left open to cheat there will be people willing to do it. I guess the online Casinos are motivated to keep the games honest and have means to police this threat. That's good to hear. | ||
