OK... here's your chance to vent. What really bugs you about poker players, the way they play or act -- anything at all.

I have a list but a few of my biggest pet peeves are:

When 2 or 3 Players raise each other silly pre-flop -- making it 3 to go -- and then they check all the way home.

Players who ask for a new deck of cards after they lose a big pot.

Players that degrate and harrass the dealers because they are losing is something that I just can't tolerate.
If you really stop and think about it, the dealer has no control over your win or loss, and those type of people should stick to playing on on-line poker sites only and should not even enter a casino where others have to take any of their abuse..that is my #1pet peeve!

I agree. This behavior is disgusting and ruins the experience for everyone.

I also hate the players who ask for a new setup when they aren't running well. Like a new 52 card deck with independent trials each hand is going to be better than the current 52 card deck with independent trials. These are the same players who like to bet "hot" numbers on the roulette wheel.

I am so glad that Atlantic City does not allow the players to ask for a new set up.(the cards are changed continuosly throughout the day but by no means can they be changed whenever some superstitious sucker feels that this will have an effect on their poker wins). They just don't get it- they really think it's the deck that is being unkind and never(God forbid) even consider that just maybe they are playing poorly. I witness that sometimes in Vegas but it isn't that often really, it just seems to be asked by a handful of players and the same ones over and over, year after year! I think part of the reason why the player will ask the dealer to do this is just their way of abusing them a bit because it makes them do more work and after all, it is the dealers' fault when they lose...Oh brother.

What if I'm running "hot" and don't want the deck changed? What happens then? Or what if I just want to piss that player off and speak up saying I don't want the deck changed? Can I do that?

Online - People who take the maximum time they can for each bet - every time.

People who make fun of the way other people (usually beginners) play.

And my #1 Peeve!
Player Haters - People who won't stop bitching about the pots they "should have won" and continue to nag the person who has the biggest stack - calling them lucky. I often say "PH" in online rooms. I'm sure nobody knows what it means, but it helps to relieve some of my player hater hatred.

I like the PH comment. I also like to antagonize those players by writing "boo hoo" in the chat area when they bitch about losing a pot. :)

I hate fish you pick on the other fish. It is almost invariably a complete tard who mocks another player for the way they played a hand and drives the fish away from the table. There are a few regulars at Brantford like this - degenerate gamblers who cannot book a winning session and only want to play with those better than them. While they are donating to the table, I'd rather move to another one just because any recreational gamblers who sit down will get bugged, feel bad, and go home.

Man...don't get me started!!

- Players who berate dealers for dealing them bad beats, runs of bad cards, etc.
- Players who berate dealers in general
- Players who educate the table
- Players who piss and moan constantly about their misfortune, looking to their neighbours at the table or anyone who might give them sympathy (these tend to be older, European guys - not sure why)
- Players who softplay their buddies at the table
- Players with horrible hygiene (I actually had to get a seat change one time 'cause this guy's breath was so horrible I couldn't concentrate)

Ok. That's enough :O)

What do you mean by that?

I'm just asking as my friends and I are very inexperienced at a real live poker table. We were discussing how we would handle it if we were at the same table in a B&M. We were thinking that if it came down to just the two of us we might check it all the way through as to not give any more to the rake than necessary. We also talked about having signs in case we wanted the other person to raise. But since that is unethical I will not go there to avoid a verbal beating from this good group of people.

Not to advertise my diminutive poker vernacular, what is B&M? I'm pretty sure what I'm thinking of is not what you mean ....

Yes, having signs is VERY unethical. It is collusion, and you can get banned from a cardroom by doing this.

Softplaying one another (checking down to avoid rake), on the other hand, is not unethical, but it is still something that bugs me. I never softplay, and neither does stdio. If we happen to be in a hand together, we'll certainly do our best to outplay one another. One time, he called me down with 22 on a very scary board (something like 6788T w/ flush possible) because he read me for overcards (he was right). In general, we try not to play at the same table together because we really don't want to end up in this situation. I can understand why friends softplay each other, but it doesn't mean I approve, or I'll adopt this practise myself :O)

I'm annoyed by the guy who says "nice hand" (or types "nh" ) after every hand. That comment should be reserved for those rare, expertly played hands.
