| Yes, I'll have to give Casino San Pablo another try. The time I went, I was having a bad run of cards and that extra blind was killing me, so that may have colored my view. I have no doubt that the hourly charges at the Oaks are cheaper, even with the $1 jackpot drop each hand, but if you are winning at San Pablo, it may be that the games are very loose there, or at least that you have good table selection and are finding the good games. Yeah, I also admit that at times the service is slow at the Oaks, usually it's just when they are super-busy, usually weekends, they will eventually come if you remind the dealer after about ten minutes or so. Another option is to just take a break and go to the dining room, I kinda like the dark gloomy atmosphere of the dining and bar area, it's a good place to get psyched up for tournaments. Yeah, definitely check out the tournaments at the Oaks. I think that they have a really good vibe. The cool thing is if you start out running bad, you can bail without taking the rebuy and add-on. On the Wednesday you've only lost $60 for a chance to win 3K on Sundays you've only lost $75 for a chance to win $5K or more. If you are running good, you can take all the add-ons and rebuys and usually make it to the final table with some chips, just using solid tournament play, unless you have some serious bad beats which does happen. The nice thing is that a lot of times people will be willing to deal, so although the money is all in the top three, sometimes you can get a pretty good payout just by getting to the final table and hanging on for dear life if you are shortstacked. | ||
