| I agree.. im from Detroit, and although the only poker i played there when i was younger was in home games...I would 100 percent agree with TKarrde on heading over to Windsor. I wouldnt trust the new casino's downtown in Detroit as far as i could throw Coleman Young's rotting corpse. on 2. Jun 2003 13:18 TKarrde wrote: > I have no clue. | Greek town casino has 8 tables and spreads hold'em, 7stud, and omaha in various forms, depending on how management feels. mark P.S. i hated playing there. the management is horrible as are some of the dealers. There is a bar and slots set up around the tables so lots of people can watch you, and bump into you. One saturday night there were 40 people on the 5-10 hold'em list and 2 empty tables. It was the most unprofessional place i ever played in. But it was the only casino game in town. | ||

| But the casino in Windsor doesn't have a poker room ,onlly those "table games",pai gow,let it ride and caribbean stud poker. There used to be a nice poker room at the Soaring Eagle in Mt. Pleasent but they closed it during the winter. If Greektown is as bad as Mark says i am not going to check them out like i originally planned to . Any one else have any comments on Greektown poker room? | ||

| I had no idea that they had a poker room in Mt. Pleasant. I wish they'd consider re-opening it. That has got to be one of the nicest casino's in the state, along with the joint up in the Sault. When is poker going to come into it's own across the board? I mean.. i havent walked into a casino anywhere that doesnt offer Blackjack, or Carribean Stud. How can a casino lose money raking poker tables all day long? I cant figure it out. Oh to hell with it. Im opening a poker parlor in my rec room. Next to free booze and other refreshments, and it'll cost ya like 5% when u cash out ahead. That'll teach those neanderthal casino owners a thing or two. Blaze a trail i will... damn.. ill have to order more chips. Wish me luck, and write me in prison... MouseBeast | ||

| Hey Mouse its not that they were losing money with the poker room at Mt. Pleasant its just that they can make more money with another bank of slot machines in that floor space. Plus machines don't need health insurance or call in sick. Its all about the bottom line,as usual. They dont give a damn about poker aficionados, the rotten bastards. | ||

| i agree wholeheartedly---i went to greektown once to play poker, sat in a traffic jam about 30 feet from the casino entrance for 45 minutes. when i got to the poker room, i stood there for 15 minutes while the floorperson alternately worked on his stand up routine over the microphone, and ignored me along with the line that had formed behind me. the dealers were ok, but in my opinion it isn't a player-friendly place. i used to play in mount pleasant, and heard a lot of negative comments about their customer service, but the lack of professionalism in greektown makes mount pleasant's room look like bellagio. there is a poker room now in windsor, and from what i've heard it's very nice. | ||

| That's it I'm not going anywhere near Greektown,it sounds like the pits. Unfortunately I just called Casino Windsor{1-800-991-7777} and was told by a rather puzzled employee that they don't have a poker room.DAMN. | ||
