I have played a few limit hold'em tournaments at the Tropicanna in Atlantic City and have made the final table twice (out of five tries). This week I will try the no-limit tournament. It's a $65 + $10 buy-in, so I will not be risking a lot of money. It will be my first no-limit tourney (although I did win a one table satellite, no limit the only time I tried).
My question is about rebuys. I have never played a tournament with rebuys, and the one I will try this week allows rebuys in the first three rounds. What is the best strategies regarding rebuys?
Thanks for your assistance.
David B

I don't like the idea of rebuys in NL tournaments. How many do they allow? The problem is that you get everyone going all-in at the drop of a hat, if they know that they can just buy more chips if they get busted. However, the upside is that the prize pool gets big when people take rebuys. I can't give you too much advice on NL, but just beware of suckouts if they allow rebuys because people will call your big bets that should get them out when you are in the lead.

Play loose and agressive during the rebuy period and use your rebuys when you bust. You're looking to double up early on and then sit on this cash.
