Could I have some cheese with this whine?, TKarrde, 2. Jun 2003 07:47 | ||

| Just wanted to get my bad beat story out of my system. Played in a 500 Point buy-in at UB last night. Tried seeing some flops but wasn't catching anything. Got down to T600 and then things started picking up. By the end of the first break I was in 4th chip position with about T4500. Built that up to T6700 but dropped a bit to T5500. Then I get AA on the button. Now my play style is usually to hardly ever initiate an all-in but to call others when I got the goods. And never to go all-in pre-flop. But with blinds of 100-200, and seeing about T1200 hit the pot before hit got to me I decided to make a move. Went all-in and got one caller who flipped up QTs. Although I am a big favorite I have a feeling of dread. When a T hits the flop I feel it coming true. Turn was a blank. But then the River confirms my gut feeling with another T. At T11000 I would have been in about 4th position with 50 players left and the top 30 getting paid. I thought I had played well that evening. Even making really tough calls by folding twice to with two pair on the flop to all-in calls. I will console in the fact that I played 3 Sit and Gos earlier and got 1st, 2nd, and 1st. (On my 2nd place finish I was up T9000 and lost it.) But feeling "unsatisfied" I played another Sit and Go only to bust out in 7th and went to bed wondering "what if". :( Ok, sorry for having to whine. TK | ||

| At least you can take comfort in the fact that you made a strong (and correct) move. No shame in that. | ||

| I actually wonder if I did. Yes I did have the best hand but it actually went like this... UTG Call 2000 UTG+1 Raise 4000 UTG +2 Cold Call 4000 everyone else folded to me on the button So really I could be facing upto 5 oppenents. I was telling myself that I did the right thing but since then have been questioning it. Yes, I was a huge favorite with only one caller. But was my all-in move wise? TK | ||
