| When are the best times to maximize profit potential in casinos. I am talking if one were to be available to play 24/7. i.e. max amounts of tourist/ drunks or whatever. I am planning to play at 3/6 to the 10/20 tables (stud and some hold'em) | ||

| Saturday 4:00-8:00 AM when recreational gamblers who have played all night Friday after a week at the office are looking for something positive to take home. For some, they have already reached the point where further loss doesn't seem to matter. They need a longshot and know it, so are more willing to take additional unprofitable risks. You will have fewer opportunities when the action is jamming, but those you have will provide a larger edge. Without question, my biggest wins have occured in this time period over the years. | ||

| I agree with you Andrew. The graveyared shift when others are stuck and not on their best game is the best time to play. In fact, on my trips to Vegas I adjust my schedule so that I am in bed by 9 pm and get up around 2 AM, shower, grab a bite toeat and then hit the table. It is amazing what you can accomplish in a very short period of time when you are focused and fresh and everyone else is dead tired. | ||

| I'm not a pro, but I think I have something to add... I think about this often, because I play a lot, and I play at various times, adn I see a vast difference. For example, I ge to play every Tuesday night, and I find Tuesdays to be very tight and a real challenge, even at the lowest limits at my casino. The tables are usually filled with regulars, some of whom are pros or semi-pros... and a lot of the big money players will come down to the lower limits. I suspect this is probably typical of most weeknights there. Friday and Saturday nights, between about 8:30 pm and 1 am, the place fills to bursting with fish. You can wait up to an hour just to get a seat, but there is usually a fortune to be had. It tends to get serious again after about 2 or 3 am. -Moz "There is no spoon." | ||

| I used to think this way, but the problems with weekend nights at my casino is that you can get a 4 hour list. The recreational players go home and the pros get called to the tables. When this effect takes effect strongly, the table is actually worse than on a weeknight. | ||

| Yeah, I'm pretty fortunate that my casino's poker room is very large, over 50 tables, so the longest I've ever had to wait was an hour. Normally, I get seated within 20 minutes on the busy nights. I usually make my money on those Friday and Saturday nights, and on Tuesdays I get to play with guys I consider to be a little better than me and I always learn something form them. My time on Tuesdays is limited, so I don't generally get into trouble, and usually walk away even or slightly ahead. -Moz "There is no spoon." | ||

| Thanks to everyone for the info. Where do you play? What do you think about the horseshoe, and the other Mississsippi casinos regarding the weekend crouding issue? | ||

| The best games are usually late at night through early morning. The weekends are usually better than the weekdays. Roy Cooke on 1. | My most profitable times are early mornings on weekdays. I wake up around 2:00am and hit the cardroom for 4 hours before my day job. What you find are lucky fish and tired pros who are sticking around for the money when they aren't at their best. You also get senior traffic starting around 6:00 that is very ok. I'll play from 3:30 to 7:30 and then head to work. Oh, the other element you get a lot of at that time is truckers. Great to play with. | ||

| I really think that many players will have their own thoughts and reasons for preferring weekend play verses weekday play. Personally, I tend to go in when I feel that I am at my best and sometimes that is at the wee hours in the morning but depending on the actual game itself it may be more profitable to arrive at the casino during the day. If it is the weekend(and we all know that weekends are always crowded and filled with tourists and/or recreational types, then it might be more advantagous to play when the game is booming rather than waiting and risking the chance that the game is now short or broken up already. I think that most tourists come to town(at least in my neck of the woods) on Friday night after work so I will show up around that time and will be more inclined to put in a longer session(maybe 8-10 hrs). There's also a seven card stud 8 or better tournament every Sunday afternoon at the Tropicana in AC and that particular tournament attracts alot of players/tourists and the side action of stud 8 or beter games is incredible. They will spread about 3 to 4 games that will start around 9a.m. and they are phanominal games however, being that this is a Sunday most of the tourists will pack it in early so they can be back on the road in time for work on Monnday. So it really depends on what games you are interested in and knowing what times may favor that for you. I also enjoy playing in the $20-40 w/1/2 kill Omaha game at the Bellagio(I visit Vegas yearly for months at a time) but I know that if I'm not in that poker room by 11 a.m., I am not getting a seat until all those players go home- and then there is the night shift of players who wonder in at around 8p.m. every day, weekend or weekday. If I were strictly a hold-em player than I probably would have more options, but because I enjoy playing High-low games, I must really be aware as to what days of the week and times will best suit me to play. (Omaha players are a pretty weird bunch sometimes, and everything seems to always have to be just so, where hold-em players are always willing to play at any time, any day and there is always a game regardless). This post is getting quite winded, sorry, so to sum it all up...Play when YOU feel that you're getting the best of it and if that means daytime, than so be it. For some reason when I am playing hold-em, I prefer to not play in those really loose games so I'll keep away from playing that game on the weekends and will sit down and play with the 9-5ers, my results are much better. But give me a wild and crazy Omaha game any day of the week and I'll be there for sure! 4 POKER | ||
