| im planning on hosting a 50$+5 tourney, and have a few questions on blinds/payout. im hoping to get 16 people playin(two tables of 8)... planning on paying the top three or so. but first, blinds... sm big $.50/$1 0-30min $1/$2 30-60min $3/$6 60-90min $4/$8 90-120min $5/$10 120-150min $8/$16 150-180min $10/$20 180-210min $15/$30 210-240min $20/$40 240-270min $25/$50 270->min i want to keep the game moving... but i dont want to blind out all the players immidiately, what is a good balance between blind increases, and time? i dont want it to be a huge luck factor, whoever gets the best cards for the first hour wins.. but again, i dont want the table running for 6 hours. now payout... i want to pay the top three, but i think others would prefer if you made the final table, you got a slice(last three at the initial tables would move to final).... i was thinking this for payout. option 1 First $500 Second $200 Third $100 Or possibly option 2 First $350 Second $200 Third $100 Forth $75 Fifth $50 Sixth $25 questions, comments, suggestions on hosting a tourney, do i have these legistics worked out alright? i want it to be clean, and everything to be clear... no arguments. i hope everything ends up running smoothly thanks in advance | ||

Ditch 8/16. Possibly you should try: 1-2 2-4 3-6 Colour up 5-10 10-20 15-30 Colour up 25-50 50-100 75-150 ... > now payout... i want to pay the top three, but i think others would prefer if > you made the final table, you got a slice(last three at the initial tables would > move to final).... i was thinking this for payout. > option 1 Pay only the top 3. If you extend the payout that much nobody will be happy. What is the point of giving 6th place half his money back? A good way to do this is a 50-30-20 split between first second and third. | ||

| You don't say how much money in chips the buy-in gets you!! That's the first thing anyone should look at when determining if your blind structure is worth a crap. (unless I missed it as I ran through it) on 29. | good point, forgot to mention the $ amount of chips they would recieve. actually, sadly, i have been playing with the plasic peices of poo, but im goign to get 1000 of the clay "suited" chips, you probably know the ones, they are a little lighter than other chips, but should do the trick for me. i was just planning on giving everyone 50$ worth of chips, but whats the fun in that? so since im getting these new checks, ill probably give everyone 500$ in chips, and adjust my blind structure accordingly.... thanks for the input everyone *********** ¡¢£ßøx | ||
