| Hi eeverybody my names jerry and I have been playing hold em for about 6 months. I've purchased a couple of David Sklasky's books but I am having trouble understanding the way he talks about odds and implied odds. Is there any other book out there that gives an easy explanation of odds or is Skansky the easiest to understand. Please reply anybody. thank you so much. | ||

| You might search this forum for other threads containing "pot odds". I know there was one a week ago that had some detailed responses that may be of help. | ||

| I think that Sklansky does a good job, but if it is too "mathy" for you, you might want to take a look at a textbook for a statistics course for arts majors.I have no idea what book might be useful. One book on my shelf is "Probability and Statistical Inference: Volume 1: Probability," by Jim Kalbfleisch. It'll tell you everything you need to know, but probably too "mathy" again. | ||

| what about "Percentage hold em" by Case, J or "Hold em Odds Book" by Periv. I don't mind being mathy as long as it explains it thoroughly | ||

| Honestly, I found one of the best, concise, explanations of pot odds in Peter Steiner's "Thursday Night Poker". Unlike many poker books, you can walk right into Chapters (and likely other large book chains) and pick one up. And it costs under $20 CAD. It's a good deal. | ||
