| I played in a no limit tourney at a friends house over the weekend, 15 players bought in. The play was pretty mixed, with a few people who were there because the beer was free after you bought in, and some who were reasonable players. We're down to 6 people, top 5 get prize. I'm second shortest stack at 200, and the blinds are 25 and 50. The other short stacks are on my right, while the chip leader is on my left, with the close second to his left. I'm on the button and look down to see 77. UTG folds and the player to my right with 150 chips moves all in. I had no read on the two blinds since we had consolidated to 1 table about 4 hands ago. I had been playing with the all in short stack for the past few hours, and he was a reasonable player before the flop. I could tell he didn't have the goods -- no AA, KK, or QQ, but beyond that, I really wasn't sure. I thought about moving all in with him hoping that I'd almost double up and knock myself into the money, but I wasn't sure that the blinds wouldn't come in too, which I really didn't want. What would you do in this situation? As it ended up, he had AK and both blinds folded. After that, I picked up some blinds before it got around to me again, then was forced to throw my big blind away. On my small blind, I ran into JJ in the big blind after I went all in with AT. He flopped a jack, I ended up with ace high, and decided to get myself some of that free beer. Oh well, next time! Lee | ||

| This is tough because you're running out of chips fast. However, with 2 people yet to bet, you really don't want your 7's going up against multiple people. I would have probably folded here hoping that one of the blinds goes in against the player to your right and takes him out. If that happens, then you've made it to the final five and you at least get a little cash. | ||

| Definitely would've folded. 1. If that guy loses, you're in the money. 2. The big stacks won't fold when they get a chance to knock out a shortstack, as it looked like he was just stealing blinds anyway. on 18. | I definitely would have folded, too. It's tough to fold a pair sometimes, but your decision should be much easier after a player in early position moves all-in. Calling/re-raising is attractive when you're afraid of being blinded to death, but 77 quickly becomes overmatched on most flops. How did you not put your opponent on AA, KK, or QQ? Did you guess at all that he may have had AK? | ||

| I figured him for a decent ace, or maybe KQ. He had a certain way of putting his chips in when he had a big pair -- he had moved them all in a few times throughout the night. Lee | ||
