| WELL LAST SUNDAY I WAS IN THE MIRAGE TOURNAMENT OVER 70 PLAYERS STARTED. HERES MY RUN DOWN HAD AA 3 TIME THE FIRST HOUR LOST ONCE TO POCKET JACKS,SECOND TIME NO CALLERS 3RD TIME SOMEONE ELSE ALSO HELD AA AT SAME TIME. BUT BAD AS IT WAS RUNNING I PLAYED TIGHT AND MADE DOWN FINAL 3 TABLES WHEN THIS HAND CAME UP. A PLAYER UNDER THE GUN RAISED 1K WITH BLINDS 200-400 I WAS ON THE BUTTON AND LOOKED DOWN AND SAW KK I HAS 2800 LEFT SO I GO ALL IN ,HE CALLED AND TURNED OVER POCKET JACKS WHEN HE FLOPS A SET I WAS OUT . I ONLY PLAYED 7 HANDS IN IN FOUR HOURS AA,AA,AA,KK,AQ,99. THE ONLY HAND I WON WAS 99 WHEN I FLOPED A SET. WHAT A TOURNAMENT | ||

| Well, if you only played 7 hands over a 4 hour span, I'd fold too when you bet. You need to loosen up a little (I haven't given that advice in a long time). You had A-A 3 times yet the only people to call you was another A-A and a pair of jacks... that should tell you something. There is nothing wrong with being selective with your starting hands, but playing 7 hands in 4 hours is only gonna make you predictable and broke. Also, turn your caps off when you type! | ||

| Mix it up. Steals some blinds. Raise, bet then decide to fold or stay in. If some of these players are winning tournaments with J3 and 5/6 and 3/4 offsuit. then u know as well as i do that if a flop hits you u can scoop a lot of chips. | ||

| Well, he might be playing two tight, however, sometimes you go on streaks where your starting hands are either really good, or complete trash. It' s hard not to get a rockish image when you've only shown down AA's and KK's, but if all your other hands are like 72o and J4o, then there's not much you can do about it, maybe if you have a weak player in the big blind, I suppose you could try a steal on complete garbage then show the hand whether or not he defends. | ||
