For someone who studies poker and likes to play well, what is the best game to play? 7card,5 card draw, texas, etc., Put another way, which game gives an experienced player the best odds to do well against someone who perhaps has less experience?

What gives the experienced and skilled player advantages is realizing what games he/she will be able to beat. You always need to be way above the competition in order to earn for long term results.

It doesn't matter what game it is, whether it's seven card stud, hold-em, or Omaha, If a player is experienced and skillful in the game and he is playing against opponents that are weaker than him, he will always have an advantage.(The odds will always be in his favor).
Keep in mind, when I speak of a player that is "Experienced and Skillful",He will also be a player that has tremendous discipline as well(because without that, you'll have no advantage whatsoever).

Now... someone may be very experienced and skillful in one game but may not have enough experience in another type of poker game. If he's playing in a game where his experience and skills are lacking, he won't have that advantage if he's playing against a strong field of players.

That is why "Table Selection" is very important, and when you add that to the equation of experience, you've just increased your odds to a +EV.

Omaha. You can make a lot of money playing Omaha against players who don't know what they are doing. The simple reason is that it is a game of the nuts and the second nuts. Players who are hold'em educated, but not omaha educated will spend a lot of hands drawing dead or drawing very very slim. Nothing like getting into a loose omaha game where everybody is drawing to ten high flushes and the likes.
