| In order to observe you must pay attention and stay focused. Talk less and listen more. The ability of being a good listener will help you to remember many different traits of one's character, you won't need to know their name, just their tendancie's and how they act and re-act to certain situations. Having a great memory helps so keep track of those mental notes that you have on your opponents. 4 POKER | ||

| Concentration skills have been one of my greatest weaknesses, and here is how I cope with it and have improved my game as a result: I use all the "notes" features of the online poker rooms where I play. I record starting cards/positions of various players. The biggest thing that has helped this wondering old 71-year old mind is Poker Tracker to tract my own stats and those of other players. Doing these things has kept my attention on the game and individual players. After a while, using PT, I see a new player take a seat and say to myself there is old fishie or there is the bomb. PT has a game tab which is a window that shows 10 blank positiions arranged in a circular pattern. Each position has a scrollable database of all players, and all you have to do is to scroll down to any players name, click on it, and stats for that player appear. The computer pulls you back to the table when it is your action. You can go back to the game window at any time by simply clicking a button. You can click back and forth at will between PT and the table. Season concentration with patience, discipline, study of good poker books and reading the poker forums and you will have a recipe for success. AND, oh yes, practice, practice, practice....... Hope this has helped. Don Quixote on 12. May 2003 22:56 tron wrote: > I would like to increase my observations skills. > Any suggestions or practice methods. | I've seen it before but forgot... what poker sites are compatible with Poker Tracker? And how does it get populated with data? It sounded like it was automatic. And, are these sites much tougher because most people are using Poker Tracker? Thanks, TK | ||

| Paradise Poker, Poker Stars, and Empire/Party Poker are compatible with this software. It is extremely simple to use. You can go to PokerTracker.com and download their software for free. You can use it for 1000 hands, and if you like it then purchase it from them. I have imported about 10 or 12,000 hands in 2 and 1/2 months. It has truely helped me to improve my win rate from about 1.7 big bets per hour to over 6 BB's per hour. I was never able to win at Paradise Poker in two year's of play, but I now beat the .50/1. limit holdem game regularly. The games at Empire and Party are very beatable at my preferred micro limit.
