| The Mirage tournament flyer states that failure to bring your SS card to the casino (assuming you win 600 in a tourney) will result in a 31% withholding by the casino. I'm assuming that bringing your SS card puts all the money in your pocket, yet you and the IRS should receive a 1099 at years end. on 13. | I know that if you're not American (I'm Canadian) and you don't have to pay tax on gambling, then you don't have to pay it in the US when you make a big score. *BUT* the catch is that the money still gets withheld when you win it and you have to go through a lot of paperwork to get it back. | ||
