Books on Omaha, Stud - trip to Reno, Ostebovik, 8. May 2003 12:22

In a previous post I spoke of Table selection and some or the great responses got me thinking...

More games means more tables means more choices for softer tables. So along those lines...

What are some good books/sources for learning Omaha and Stud. I've read the Theory of Poker which addresses general concepts but need more specific reference/training material.

As a side note: I'm heading to Reno for a softball tourney this weekend and would enjoy meeting some contributors to this forum for conversation/edification if possible. If you are in the area drop me an email at Ostebovik@hotmail.com

Thanks.

Gerard.

Steve Badger's Omaha site and Cloutier and McEvoy's Championsip Omaha have both helped me a lot. I'm not a stud expert by any stretch, but the stud section in Super System seems really good and well-written.

Good Luck!

For seven card stud I would chose "Seven Card Stud For Advanced Players", (Sklansky/Malmuth/Zee).
And of course "Super System" (Doyle Brunson)is one that I would never be without.

For Omaha high-low I would chose these (3):
"High-Low-Split Poker" (for advanced players) which include both Omaha and SevenCard Stud high-low. (Ray Zee)

"Omaha Hi-low" (Shane Smith) it's more for the beginner but it is still worth the read.

Steve Badger's site is also very helpful and informative.

(I personally think it's a good idea to have at least one book that covers psychology as well.) "The Psychology Of Poker" (Dr. Alan Schoonmaker)is worth reading.
