| Well actually, I placed 1-4 with 3 other players since I decided to set up a deal at the end when we were all virtually even in chips. Bought in for $160 and left with over $1200! I know it's a somewhat small tourney (only 56 players) but I'm still pretty psyched since I have mostly played cash games, and have only been in three real tournaments. It's a small win, I know, but I'm still on cloud 9, especially because I knocked out some people who were previous winners at this tournament at my local cardroom, the Oaks Room in California. Just wanted to thank everyone here for all of your help, even when I've disagreed with you, I've learned a lot by trying to formulate arguments and putting down my poker ideas into clear explanations. Special kudos to stdioh, 4POKER, Wren, shorn, all the other regulars and, of course, Mike Caro and Roy Cooke for setting up this forum in the first place. BTW, just like to put in a disclaimer that all of the aggressive plays I've recommended with drawing hands are NOT FOR TOURNEY's! One of the reasons I won tonight was being able to let go of pairs like 99's and TTs and suited A's when they were no good. The good laydowns are just as important as knowing which hands to play. I'm really drunk on wine right now in celebration, so I hope I am making sense, but just wanted to thank all of you for the advanced poker discussion which is always intelligent and well thought out.
