that is just sick the way that hand turns outs. I'd have to say played properly QJ should have never been in there. Sure that occurs once in awhile but only at paradise will I ever see so many people dealt such good starting hands and catch a bunch of the flop. One reason I stopped playing there. I'd prefer KK on that flop with 3 players in calling all the way. I'm a 2 to 1 chance to fill up or better but of course AK diminishes my holding slightly. It's a good hand with 3 people going nowhere just didn't work out that way this time. Which one were you?

If the question is which hand would I prefer of the 4 mentioned with that flop, you have to go with QJ. As JD points out, depending upon the pre-flop activity, QJ probably shouldn't have been there, but it is the made hand and a lot of the outs for the other hands are already gone. BTW, I would have taken AJs next...

Quick question...what other online rooms do you play at where you don't see that many preminum hands in one pot (I ask because you reference Paradise where I play)?

well of course I prefer the hand that wins and on the flop QJ is the nuts. Well I thought the question is which you prefer without knowing what everybody has while the game is going on. If I don't know what everyone has I still prefer the KK and how much I keep pumping the pot depends if I hold the Kh or if it's on the board. I prefer party poker and poker stars now. Paradise just throws me too many loops

I disagree. I would rather have QJ at that point in the hand particularly because the with the hands listed there, there would have (or should have been) a lot of preflop raising so you would have to assume that there are Aces and Kings out there, therefore less "live" outs from which to draw. Assuming that you don't hold any hearts, there are 20 cards on the turn and river that potentially take the nuts away from you (11 hearts, 3 Aces, 3 Kings and 3 Tens), you have seen 5 cards, so there are 27 safe cards left in the deck. You are a little better than even money to win the hand, so I would definitely want the QJ.

At some point, pocket kings has to realize that he's beat and needs to fill up to have a chance at winning, then slow right down. Of course the made nut straight should be pumping it as much as possible while he has the best of it, unless he thinks that he is chopping with somebody who is freerolling him for a flush or something like that. AJ should get the hell out of there when it is obvious that he is beat and drawing to chop. As for AK, it's a tough hand to let go of, but he's got to realize that he's beat unless he fills up, so if there are two players that are going to jam the bejesus out of it, he's better off not being there.

Still, I'd say that normally this should play out with KK letting off after a few bets, AJ getting out, and everybody seeing the river. Then I would say that KK should call a river bet from the made straight and that AK should probably fold his unimproved 2 pair after that call or call with it if he is first to act after the original bettor.

I don't think you can fold any on the flop unless you get a great read on one player. The guy who flopped the nut straight, I'm sure didn't do any raising (probably didn't initiate the betting either). This person knows he's in the lead, but also knows is a heart or the board pairs he has to muck his hand as soon as he can.

Which hand would i play? I'd love to have the nut straight b/c I know where I stand. If the heart comes the players who flopped a set & top two will pay the others off hoping the board pairs. The AK is the weakest hand after the flop (only having 2 outs--the other 2 aces).

Keep in mind one player had AJ. The AK was drawing to 1 out. The big loser is that he probably doesn't know how bad it is for him. I was in a similar situation in a no limit tournament. We had 3 people left and I was the short stack. I held Q9 in the big blind, and the flop came Q93. The small blind checked, I moved all in, the dealer went all in (trying to isolate) and suprisingly the small blind called! The button had AQ and the small blind had flopped a set of 9's. Just thinking about how bad my chances were of winning that hand before it started gives me the jitteries, especially since it looked so good on the flop!
