| I was playing a Freeroll Pot Limit HE tourny on PP. As I was going to have to leave for about 90 minutes in the middle of the tourny, I was hoping I might be able to increase my stack enough to survive the blinds while I was gone (although, I didn't think it was likely). 1) My plan was to play all pairs, suited connectors (67 or higher0 and any two cards 10 or better. Since the tourny was free, I wasn't concerned about losing money. I probably wasn't going to be around later anyway. For the way I planned to play, are my starting hands acceptable or too tight/loose. 2) First hand 98o, I folded. Second hand 22, there was already one limper and I decided to call (if I knew I had time, I would have folded and waited for better cards). Total of 5 players in - 10$. Flop comes 8c 2h Qh. BB bets 5, limper calls, I raise $20 other two players fold, bettor oand limper call. Turn is Jd. Checked to me, I bet $80 (pot was $87). First player folds, second player calls. River is Ac. The other player bets. I call figuring I don't really have time or money to continue and also he might have two pair or he might figure I am pusing a Q and won't bet with the A on the board or he figures that he is going to call anyway and I might fold to his bet. Well, he had an A along with another A. Other than not limping in, could I have played that any differently? I thought about calling the flop and then raising the turn, but, AA might have called anyway. I don't think I was going to win that hand anyway I played it. | ||

| I probably would have played your hand the same way if I was planning to stay for the duration. You might have bet a little less (like 50 or 60) on the flop hoping someone with AQ would take the bait and raise pot. In retrospect, maybe you scared those aces a little too much with your bet. I wouldn't bet less than half the pot, but I'd maybe be looking for a raise so I could come over the top for max. Those hands might even be a little too tight given that you wanted to play very fast in an all out attempt to secure an early large stack. You would have to add those medium connectors and one gaps. Furthermore you would have to make plenty of marginal preflop raises to either bust or build. | ||
