thats a tough question to flat out answer, because there are so many variables involved in what a good hand is. Number of players at the table and your position are the two major factors that make one starting hand great and the same one poor, in a different situation.

shorthanded, (3-5 or 3-6 players) ace/face card or 10 is a monster, but in a 11 handed game, ace/10 under the gun should almost definitely be folded.

if you are playing with less than 6-7 players, most any 2 facecard hand is very good, but once you play larger games, those hands can be real loosers.

also, you can play worse cards the closer you are to the button, as a general rule.
