UPF's own competition ??, chasepoker, 1. May 2003 05:37

| So what do you say Roy / Mike any chance of it happening at Planet Poker ? Or shall we try and sort it out our selves via Poker Stars. I guess what everyone is looking for is an online HE tourny with lowish buy ins ( $20 -40 ??) For all the people here at UPF i think it is a great idea for everyone. We get to play against each other, UPF gets some free advertising and the site that we use gets a load of people to sign up to it ! Does anyone else think this is a workable idea ? Love to hear what you all think ! Chase | ||

| I doubt that I would last long against you guys in a tourney but I would love to play. Sounds like a great idea. John | ||

| I'd sign up for Planet Poker to pay to see you guys play. Do they offer any bonuses? Maybe I could donate my bonus to you guys. TK | ||

| That's a great idea, unfortunately I don't think I can participate with my MAC G3, which isn't powerful enough to handle the Mac/Windows conversion programs. Hmm, I've been looking for an excuse to blow a bunch of cash on a laptop, maybe it's time. | ||

| Colour me there. I would suggest making it $10 or less though, simply because the cheaper it is, the more people will want to play and the more people that play the more fun it will be. I'd still play at $50 though. | ||

| $50??? That's half my current bankroll. :) But I do like the $10. (Does anyone else have a bank roll as pathetic? But it has gone up.. started with $50 and withdrew $60.) TK | ||

| I'll play, but try not to schedule it on a weekend. Wednesday evening is best, since Ameristar is slow then. | ||

| Yeah...perhaps a weekday evening is best...but something like 6:00pm PST 9:00 pm EST so that we can get players from all over in on the thing and it is after regular working hours? | ||

Love to hear what you all > think ! > > Chase Hi, Chase -- I'm all for having a United Poker Forum tournament, either in a real-world casino or (as you suggest and as is more practical) online. The problem is that most posters here probably don't have PP accounts. Some play at other online casinos and many don't play online at all. Still, I think this would be a great social and competitive happening for those who can participate. We have talked about physical get-togethers (in Las Vegas or elsewhere) to meet our online friends in person -- and those would include friendly tournaments. Straight Flushes, Mike Caro

| I would be willing to open an account at planet to play in this. I'm sure others feel the same. Lee | ||

| Judging from the response given here i believe that if Planet Poker could organise a tourny then you would get a good deal of interest and as i said earlier Planet may get some new customers from this ! If it is not possible on Planet then could you just let us know and i will persue other avenues. If you want to email me i am on chasepoker@hotmail.com 7 High's Chasepoker | ||

| I know that ultimatebet had a private tourney for RGP posters. I'm sure that they would be willing to set up a private tourney for posters here and that there are a lot of posters here who would be willing to create accounts at UB to do it. That said, Planet really deserves the first shot at this what with them being endorsers of the site and all. So I would say that if Planet wans to do it, lets give it a shot and if they don't somebody else will be happy to do it. For posters here who don't want to create an online account that's tough, but oh well. You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs. | ||

| I am playing in 2+2's tourney as I am a regular poster there. I will let you know how it goes. Seems like it is going to be lots of fun. Somebody take it upon themselves to get one going here through Planet if possible. | ||

| Going to give the Mike and Roy and bit of time to come back to us on here. But will start looking elsewhere if it doesnt look as though it will happen on Planet. But as someone else said in this post, they should get first shot at holding it. But failing that Poker Stars looks favourable, i might even play in the 2+2 tourny..... 7 High's Chasepoker | ||
