But I have a feeling that if we were to do this, that everyone here would be playing their absolute BEST game of poker...who needs that? LOL. | yeah maybe something like a 20 + 2 or 30 + 3, tourney like I said nothing huge because to many sharks here. You don't have to worry 4 Poker as for me I'll be about the 9th or 10th best player on the table so I'll just be donating my money. but you're right that'll be about the worst table selection possible. Sounds cool though | ||

| For sites like Party Poker that do not offer private games, my suggestion would be for you and your pals to sit down at a table, and if anyone else comes just sit out until they leave. But for tournaments it might be more difficult because once everyone is seated the game automatically starts. | ||

| The only way to get better is to play people on their best game, right? Oh, I see, you'd rather play easy tables, and keep that risk/reward ratio as high as possible. I understand......point made. Too bad for all us novices that this idea could have benefitted. | ||

Hey, I didn't mean anything bad by that, I was simply paying a compliment where I thought it was deserved. I may not be a novice but I certainly can tell when others play well, too. I've read a lot of posts here and I think , even though they might not play for a living, they still could kick my butt! | I think a private UPF tourney is a wonderful idea - especially if we could get some of the hotshots like Roy C., Mike C, and Jan F. in on it. In the spirit of getting a lot of players to play, I think that the entry should be very cheap though. If you can get a $5 entry fee tournament arranged I don't think anybody could complain too bitterly. Put this together on a Sunday afternoon or the likes and colour me there. For that matter, I could see something like a monthly UPF tournament being a huge success. | ||

| I agree with this 100%. I certainly wouldn't want to jump into a limit game with the rest of you folks, but I wouldn't mind blowing $5 or $10 to play a tourney. I'd consider it entertainment money. :) Lee | ||

| A monthly UPF tournament sounds interesting. Mike and Roy, you have some pull with Planet Poker - sounds like you could make it happen there. It would be at least interesting to see some of the posters in action. I don't know if everyone would want to put $50 in an account to do this, but I think it would be a huge success if it were a freeroll. I'm sure it would generate lots of discussion on this board in the aftermath. I don't see it being too hard to register players if there were some way to compare e-mail addresses used with this forum against Planet's database. | ||

| So it is possible, I'm just not familiar with Poker Stars. I only thought Planet Poker might be the most appropriate given Mike and Roy's affiliation. Doesn't matter what site, I'd be willing to participate as long as it isn't Stud or Omaha high only. | ||
