| Does any station (ESPN?) normally show the WSOP main event live? maybe not seeing how long it takes. When will some of the action be aired? The final table? Thanks, TK | ||

NO one shows poker live, except webcasts, Easy E, 28. Apr 2003 16:27

| T, If you were looking for 2003 WSOP, wait until the fall/winter (for whoever produces it for Travel/ESPN to put it together) Otherwise, reread my post and look at the years Even the WPT is almost a year? behind with their showings... though they'll only be a few months behind when they get to the end. | ||

| How do they actually expcet the sport to continue to grow if they don't show it more real time. I'd love to see the final table live. But at least get it to us in the next few days. We don't watch the Masters on tape delay. TK | ||

Actually, isn't golf always on a tape delay?, Easy E, 29. Apr 2003 09:49

| In that most golfers start at 7 am, and the network doesn't broadcast until 14:00 or so? Imagine having to eat up the hours AND the quick production cuts to catch interesting stuff from a 12-hour poker day..... ugh. | ||

| Oh I understand your point. But golf is live. I'm assuming you don't watch it. They just show the end of the day in which the leaders are playing. And of course some taped stuff in between. But you are probably right that no one wants to see fold, after fold, after fold. Blind steal, after blind steal, after blind steal. But I actually would. Although they could require that the dealer takes 30 seconds to shuffle to throw in the commercials!! :) I would bet that any videos are the same way. But doesn't it give a false image of the game? Just glad I don't have to wait until April to watch the Superbowl on TV. TK | ||

| They can't show it live!! The 2 hour show depicting the final table of the 2002 WSOP covered 7 hours of poker. You don't want to see a non-produced show. It would be impossible to keep up with...you wouldn't have those clever hands shown to you nearly as quickly or accurately. How many times do you want to see everyone fold to the blinds in early action? Of course, if you liked watching war correspondence non-stop for 12 hours at a time, you might have something. Finally, sponsors, sponsors, sponsors......what if they were at a commercial when there was a 3 handed all-in draw out game?.....only to return from commercial to see 2 players missing from the game. | ||
