Recently moved because of job promotion, and the only poker I can find during the hours that I don't work is a low-limit Holdem game. Before this I was more then a casual player at a 10/20 or 15/30 game, where I averaged about 15 to 20 dollars an hour. Which was nice supplement to my income. Now I find myself in the lowest of holdem games at 2/5 with a 5/10 kill and I can' brake it.

The game is in the middle of the week. The table consists of 1 to 3 retirees that are total rocks. They play poker im sure to help pay to help aid in there retirement checks. They are smart enough to adapt but you can tell that they are completely lost when the game gets aggressive with any kind of raises before and after the flop. They don't frighten me. Rocks are easy to deal with. You either just don't feed them or you frighten them off with raises. However because of the fact that it is such a low limit game there is always 1 or 2 other people at table that will almost always take you to the river. So your caught in a conundrum.

I really like to play poker and this is the only table available to me. I even read a book on low limit poker. I realize that even a 15/30 table is probably considered low limit to some of the pros here. The book I think was by Slansky and he described a similar table in it very well, and he said that if the players were good enuff to adapt then you are likely at an unbeatable table and should find another. Is this true. I think im still an over all winner at this table, but I can't consistently own it. I am having issue with the fact that I was a constant winner in a higher level of play, and now find myself losing more sessions then I have ever before. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have concerning this dilemma. How would some of you play this table?

Like a red chameleon in a green forest, ... either turn green (adapt to the game) or start painting the forest red (bring other people like you into this game). Make it more fun. Animate a bit. Smile. You are the better player at this table, so start some atmosphere so outsiders will join, and in time, change the rock game into YOUR kind of game. You are more than likely not alone in your new city. Ask around, after all, you have a new city to explore. You will probably find or hear of another poker game more to your liking soon anyways, but meanwhile animate to manipulate and have fun.
