How much money is needed to consistently play tournament and not have a high risk of going broke? I know most people will say 200-300 BB for limit side action. However, what about for a tournament schedule of $2,000 buy-ins and below.

Hello Kid

As with all bankroll questions how well you play in relationship to your competition is a huge variable. That said, add up all the entry fees of the tourneys you want to play over the course of a year and see what it adds up to....I would think that would be a minimum amount..Most players trade off pieces or look for stakehorses due to the large fluctuations.

I seem to recall Tom McEvoy once writing that he thought a person should have a $300,000 BR for a year of serious tournament trail play.
