How do the different online poker rooms compare?, TKarrde, 25. Apr 2003 07:27 | ||

| I know this question has been asked about where the best place to play is... but after reading a post about a place that actually deposited cash into the players account due to the amount of money that he had bet, I was wondering how the "perks" compare. I've only played at Ultimate Bet and haven't even looked too much into what they give. But looks like the only thing they give is points. And then you can spend those points. I wonder if there is a way to quantify those points into dollars (ie 100 points = $1). Then do the same thing for all the others and see how they compare. I know that these "perks" should really never be the main consideration as to where to play but was curious as to what else was out there. TK | ||

| Paradise Poker a few months ago gave away tee shirts and caps and asked that they be worn on visits to B&M casinos. Ultimate Bet has rewards which require tons of points. We become walking billboards for these online rooms, so they get cheap advertising IMHO. My biggest gripe is that most rewards go toward playing in tournament satellites. I am not a tourney player and wish the rooms would be more creative and generous in their comps. Don Quixote on 25. | Well...if you want to get comped playing poker expect to be playing for a very long time...I like UB because you can use your points to play in tournaments and win more points. I am a satellite player so the current format works fine for me...why don't you write them and suggest they add point ring-game tables? I've found UB pretty open to suggestions, Annie Duke made a post on 2+2 that got good reception and it seemed like they took most of our suggestions into consideration. Pokerroom offer's "cash back" for your points, you earn points like most of the other sites, if you get 100 points you can cash them in for a buck...not much (points = 1cent), but hey...it's money, and it doesn't take years of playing to get a reward. Planet poker has some small prizes (shirts, hats, poker chips, etc), but it does take a little while to earn enough points. Those are all I really know about. peace, jHE | ||
