| Last week, I sat down at a table online and witnessed five(5) pocket rockets in the space of an hour. (Incidently, 4 of them held up and I cracked the fifth) Mindful of the recent discussion of "strange" occurrances on internet poker sites, you can't help but wonder. Having said that, I wondered if we would notice if pocket rockets DIDN'T occur for a significant length of time. Would it be equally "strange" not to see them for....say 40 hours of playing time? Do we see what we want to see? | ||

| One player had 5 in one hour or just 5 at the table? Also 1 hour on the internet equals about 2 hours in B&M. 5 AA at one table in 2 hours wouldn't surprise me at all. The same player having them would be uncommon, but wouldn't raise my eyebrow - I've seen much stranger things happen. | ||

| never played online... but i was genuinely happy when I got pocket rockets twice in a row, playing no lim with my friends... none of them expected it the second time around... anyone know the exact odds of that? i know getting pocket rockets once is 220 to one against, but what are the odds of getting them twice in a row? | ||

| As soon as you look down and see those two aces your chance of getting AA again in the next hand is 1/221 (odds of 220:1 against). The chance of getting pocket aces twice in a row, before you look at the first hand is 1/221*1/221 = 1/48841 (odds of 48840:1 against). If you look at your down cards and they are not both aces, your chance of getting pocket aces twice in a row, including this hand is 0 Snorbolus on 22. | I think a lot of people definitely do see what they want to see, especially if it "validates" some of their theories about how online poker is rigged, or how they're sooo unlucky, etc. One guy in a UltimateBet point sit n go kept insisting that he got J4o five times more than he got any other one hand on UB. I asked him if he tracked every single hand that he got dealt, but of course he didn't. Chances were that he got several J4o's clumped together in a particular session, and then future instances of J4o became very salient to him and made him think he was getting the hand disproportionately often. The truth of the matter is that online poker IS NOT rigged, and luck evens out in the long run. But it is kinda spooky when you receive precisely the same two cards two hands in a row, and this has just happened for the 3rd time in a single session :O) | ||

| i was playing a session just for fun with my brother.... he proceded to get 23, next hand 45, next hand 67, next hand 89, then 10J. he may have been pulling my leg about the 23 and the 45, but he showed me the 67 89 and 10J *********** ¡¢£ßøx | ||

| Well if you play a lot of online poker one of the strangest things I've seen is KK vs. AA over and over. Now this isn't sour grapes because roughly 3 months of online poker has paid the rest of my car payments (although I still contend I should have won more if some extremely fishy things didn't happen). But last year I put in ~1200 hours at regular casinos and can honestly say that I've seen KK vs. AA maybe 6 times total. Online I've seen it happen 5 times in a rather short session. I've honestly seen it in excess of 24 times in nearly 3 months. Granted I do play at 2 tables at once and have actually played close to 5 hours a day. | ||

I was playing in a limit holdem tournament once and was dealt AA four (4) times in the span of about 30 minutes. It does happen. Paul Stine College Station, TX | ||

| Also online, since the chances that a given player will get AA is 220:1 on a given hand and we assume that we play 75 hands/hour in a normal online game, then that is 750 hands from which AA could come to. So, I would expect to see AA around 3-4 times an hour on that table. Given these numbers, seeing it 5 times in one hour (or even 10 frankly) don't seem that far-fetched. | ||

| I was once dealt AA four out of five dealt hands in a live game....statisical flukes are statisically correct to happen when there are many trails Roy Cooke on 22.
