Roy, Mike, Jan, Rolf. Do I have what it takes?, stdioh, 21. Apr 2003 10:35

Hi to Roy and the other notorious professionals who frequent this board. I'm interested to hear your opinions on my writing and if it has potential for publication. This is probably just me having a big head, but I thought I'd rattle a couple of cages nonetheless.

The lovely Wren read my last big post about table texture and said something to the effect of, "That's really good; it reads like a cardplayer article," to which I thought, hmmm...could I write real poker articles? I'm certainly egotistical enough and have enough to say :)

So my question to both those who are published, and to the casual readers of this forum as well, is do you think that I'm a decent enough poker writer to put in print? Second question to the experts: Who would I talk to and how do I get considered?

If I could get the odd piece printed up in CardPlayer, I know I'd be the envy of those I play with, to be sure. Thanks.

As a non-professional player, i aways look for your posts. They are well thought out and well written.Your question raises what may be an opportunity for CP to reach out to its readers. There are other posters
( myself included ) who are capable of writing an article of interest. Why not have a guest writer column?

Your post about table selection is particularly good, in my opinion. It might be worth a shot to clean it up and submit it as a sample of your writing. Good luck!

If you have something that you think makes the grade why not submit it to PokerPages? They run a trailer that says they are looking for articles.

Hi Stdioh

I think you write well...Why don't you call CArdPlayer and see if they are interested in giving you a shot.
