| Does anybody know of a website or book where i can get a large list of poker statistics that i can memorize (for example: % of one hand against another heads up, % of making a flush on turn with X amount of hearts, etc etc.) Granted i could work them out myself but obviously that would take QUITE some time and this would be more convenient. Thanks a lot for the help. | ||

Thanks a lot for the help. Hi, Bond18 -- I'm sure there are many good sites, but if you click on the word "ODDS" at the bottom of this UPF forum page, you'll find yourself inside the Statistics library inside Mike Caro University of Poker (MCU) and at Poker1.com. | a pretty good book is the Ken Warren book "Winners Guide to Texas Hold 'em Poker". I use it as constant reference. Has complete odds tables for every situation (odds on flop, with 2 cards to go, one card, odds to make a 4 flush, str8, etc.). Highly recommended. Andy Bellin refers to it a few times in "Poker Nation" as well. | ||

| Sklansky's the Theory of Poker has a good section on odds and probability. As a newer player, you should focus on the biggies like odds of making a straight or flush when you have an outside draw, gutshot, or 4-flush. Also, the odds of making two-pair or trips on the turn when you have a pair. What I have found helpful is to put a little post it note reminder on my monitor about what the pot needs to be laying me to draw on the flop (ex., 9 outs equals approx. 4-1, 8 outs equals approx. 5 to 1) so that I always check before calling a bet with a draw. You can always take a little cheat sheet to the B&M too. After a while, these will become second nature to you, but this helped me early on. | ||
