| do you pros find yourself just playing online almost exclusively? I just started playing online about 2 months ago and find it wonderful. Of course Paradise is my favorite, Aztec riches poker is also pretty good but the selection doesn't compare to paradise. What site has the second most players? I've turn $300 into over $4000 and surely could have made more but lost a bunch a couple of times. The rake is smaller, I don't get fatigued, I save time and gas, and you don't have to tip the floorperson or dealers. Just wanted to know what your opinions were? | ||

| I played professionally only live games for 5 years before switching over almost entirely to internet play for the last three for many of the reasons you mentioned. The game is much faster and the multiple tables that you are allowed to played plus bonuses allow you to play at levels much lower than you would ordinarily play live yet make the same amount of money. I still miss the face to face play but it just isn't as good a value as the internet in my opinion. | ||

| Yes, playing on line is a lot of fun and does save you money in gas and tipping, and the wait for a game is never as long as it can be when you play in a casino. For people who aren't fortunate enough to live nearby a casino, then on-line poker is a nice alternative. However, for me personally, there's nothing that compares to playing the game "live". There's something about playing on line that just takes the whole finesse out of it. The interactions with "real people", touching the chips, holding my own cards, the chance to stare somebody right in the eye, etc. etc. etc., Is what poker's all about... At least for me anyway! 4 POKER:) | ||

It has worked for me anyway... | ||

| Good. I think it is in all of our best interests to keep this place a full idea share. I know that I have learned a ton in the 6 weeks that I have been reading/posting and it has only helped my game. Any advice I can get from a pro (like yourself) for free (without having to pay in chips!) is the best advice. Thanks, Steve | ||

| Hey Steve, Thanks so much for taking the time to write such an eloquant letter. I appreciate it very much. I have also learned alot myself from the short period of time that I've been here. One of those things was trying to put my views across without sounding egotistical in any way. I'm just trying to be helpful but we all know how that can come across when discussing poker! There are so many different opinions and theories on the matter, that it is impossible to say that there is only one correct approach. Anytime you want my opinion, I'll be more then happy to share it with you, and anytime I need to know anything regarding mathematics or anything of that nature, I'm definately coming to you! Thanks. A ll the best, David | ||

| You bet. The last thing I want to do is waste an opportunity to learn more about this game. I think it is great that this is a place where people can agree and disagree since we all know that there is never ever only 1 correct way to play a hand (other than being on the river with the abslute nuts in limit and raising until you are out of chips...suhweeeet!). | ||

| I do this too. Also helps to keep my hands off the mouse so I'm not tempted to browse someplace else when I should be watching the action. =) | ||

| One of the dissadvantages to playing online is that you lose the human aspect of the game. The world class players are world class not because they know how to play poker well, but because each one posesses a crystal ball which tell him his opponents' cards. I'm sure Mike Caro can tell you all about the human side of the game as he wrote the book which is the authority on basics of tell reading. Also, you find much fishier games in real life IMO. | ||
