| late tourney only 2 players left blinds were like 1000, 2000 I've got A2 and he has been raising my all day with KQ KJ which is pretty good heads up but this time I reraise him. At this point there is too much money in the pot so basically we're both going all in. Board comes blanks so I win. Wondering what people's strategies for heads up in the tourney is? | ||

| It varies a little based on if your A2 is suited and if his KQ is suited, and all those combinations, but... It ranges from 56%-60% in your favor. Now you just have to decide if you are in a position that you're ok with having only a 3-2 edge for your entire stack =). | ||

| Can we factor in that this time he might have a pocket pair or ace blank? | ||

| When you're in a nolimit tourney and you are heads up, every move is very dependant on stack size. That said, a lone ace makes for a raising hand. KQ also makes for a raising hand. If he's got you brutally outstacked, then playing your A2 is not a mistake. Likewise, if you've got him cornered you can play that hand. Still, I would probably just call a raise with my A2 and have a gander at the flop. If it looks like it missed a raising hand then you can bet it because you are likely best right now. If there is a face card on the flop, you can still survive it. I would only reraise in this position if I have 88+ or if I had AQ+ One of the worst things in the world is having a pocket pair and being dominated by a bigger pocket pair. Another terrible thing is having a big ace and being dominated by a bigger ace. | ||

| I agree. Stack size late in the tourney is the key to the move here. | ||
